The Joneses were a band from Southern California whose style was mixture of punk rock and rock and roll. Founded in 1981 by guitarist and singer Jeff Drake and professional skateboarder, Steve Olson. The band included numerous players over the years with Drake being the only mainstay.

However, what it masks is a band that endured nearly two decades to bring a consistently high quality of sounds for our pleasure. And during that tenure, they released two excellent LPs, “Keeping Up With The Joneses” (1974) and “The Joneses” (1977). 20:08 PMThe Joneses were, originally from Pittsburgh and consisted of five members. They were one of several groups from that time that represented a return to the vocal group format that became prevalent in the previous two decades. During the early 70s, the group began recording in the soft-soul mode that featured a falsetto lead, sweet harmonies along with fully orchestrated arrangements. The original group formed in Pittsburgh in 1969, however the recording group arrived at its final line-up after moving to New York to record for YM.R Records in the early 70's.
