Rock Aak’w presents Indigenous performance arts from around the world. For decades, Indigenous and First Nation artists have performed in the peripheries of the arts market, it is only in recent years have we seen significant rise in opportunities, primarily due to collaboration between Indigenous artists, organizations and allies from Australia, Aotearoa, and Canada. There is still so much ground to make up in the United States, and Rock Aak’w’s efforts to create opportunities helps to make up this ground and to overcome the historically under-representation of Indigenous performance. www.rockaakwfestival.com
