Sima Kim

Sima studied musicology, harmony and counterpoint in his university days, and taught tape music by himself. He initially approached his composition from a musique concrete and avant garde standpoint, slowly evolving to encompass his own way. Sima cites minimalist composers Arvo Part as direct influences, along with Johann Sebastian Bach, the romanticism of Ludwig Van Beethoven and diversity of Sergei Profokiev and Karlheinz Stockhausen as inspiration for his compositions. and his main theme is between the things; mainly silent and note, layer, texture and so on. simakim.tumblr.com
