Irisarri is probably most well-known for the ambient-leaning techno he makes as The Sight Below for Ghostly, but the Seattle producer's a busy man. He moonlights as one half of the drone duo Orcas (with Benoit Pioulard), he curates the Substrata festival and also releases solo music on other labels under his real name. Easily the most prominent of the latter category was 2010's The North Bend, released on Lawrence English's Room40 imprint. Irisarri will return to that label for The Unintentional Sea, a slow-moving drone record inspired in part by California's Salton Sea, a saltwater lake that was accidentally created in 1905 during land development efforts. (The manmade landmark was also the inspiration for another album last year.) www.residentadvisor.net
