Brooklyn band Momma said this just-released song (today!) was written about “a summer when we were on tour, and it felt like everything in our lives changed within a one-month span.” They said, “We wanted the video to capture that youthful feeling, like the world is brand new and everything is ahead of you. We went upstate to our friend’s house near Hudson to film, and just spent the whole day goofing off and running around.”: www.youtube.com

"This Brooklyn duo’s third album is a potent set of ‘90s-steeped grunge-pop with fuzzy guitars, dulcet harmonies, an abundance of catchy song hooks and sometimes tongue-in-cheek lyrics of aspiring rock stardom in an era where there are very few rock stars." kexp.org mommaband.bandcamp.com

On “Rockstar”, Momma sing about the allure of the music industry. “Etta and I wanted to write a song about making it big, and becoming rockstars. We didn’t want to take anything too seriously, lyrically or musically. We just wanted the song to sound big,” the band’s Allegra Weingarten said in a statement. “We thought it would be cool to have our own little rockumentary condensed in a 3-minute music video. It’s also kind of like a manifestation – I think we shamelessly want all of these things to happen in our careers.” bit.ly mommaband.bandcamp.com

That two-guitar riff is from singer-guitarists Etta Friedman and Allegra Weingarten. The band is rounded out by bassist Aron Kobayashi Ritch and drummer Zach CapittiFenton. -- The band said, "We wanted to write about that feeling of just being addicted to someone, and how someone else’s company can really feel like a drug."
