Marsa

The group Marsa, from Recife, works with a fusion or regional folkloric elements with pop. Their re-works of traditional material are rich in rhythm, poetry, harmony and melody. The brothers Rogerio and Rodrigo Samico along with Thiago Martins, released the album Circular Movimento in 2016. Largely slept on by the mainstream media, the album was later picked up and re-released by Mills Records in 2017. The group is composed of experienced musicians who found an instantaneous chemistry in their conscious search for growth as individuals and as musicians and artists. The compositions often come out of guitar jam sessions in an acoustic format and include a variety of styles – forró, samba, baião, seresta and other genres are all welcome.
