This song was written by Thelonious Monk with lyrics by Sally Swisher. "Carmen Sings Monk" was rightfully acclaimed after its release in 1988. Two years later, Carmen put out her last release, "Sarah: Dedicated to You," a tribute album to her friend Sarah Vaughan who'd died in April 1990.
