At the heart of the EP lies its title track/lead single, ironically timed just after the Sofia native had won the prestigious Music Moves Europe award during ESNS in January, hosted by tastemaker legends Jools Holland, Kevin Cole (KEXP) and more. The song is a poignant reflection on the perils of success and the sacrifices one must make along the way. In a world where fame often comes at the cost of one’s authenticity, Bulgarian Cartrader confronts this dilemma head-on, urging listeners to embrace the discomfort of growth rather than succumbing to the allure of the easy path. Written and produced by Daniel Stoyanov alone in his Berlin studio and mixed by Stephen Sedgwick (Damon Albarn, Lana del Rey, Benjamin Clementine), the track combines an eccentric, captivating Prince-esque vocals with a bassline driven, minimalistic and repetitive structure that keeps marching on until it fades out with a groove like out of a Shaft scene. tinyurl.com

ESNS (Eurosonic Noorderslag)/ Music Moves Europe Awards 2024 Highlights Bulgarian Cartrader performed at this year's ESNS festival! Eurosonic Noorderslag is a non-profit organisation and independent platform dedicated to the promotion and discovery of new European and Dutch music. Founded in 1986, ESNS hosts an annual four-day showcase festival and music conference across venues in Groningen, the Netherlands. This year, 280 acts played from 36 different countries. The ESNS were January 17-20, 2024 in Groningen, Netherlands, and Kevin served on a five-person jury for the Music Moves Europe Awards, which are presented during ESNS.
