It's Amplifiers Love Day 2023! "Thanks for another great show. I've been listening to KEXP for 38 years, and been an Amplifier for 4. I can't imagine what life would be like without all my regular shows, your Sunday show included. It helps me get into the groove of cooking. It's been a bit since I've said thank you, so, THANK YOU! You, and your comrades in groove make my world a better place. "If you could work in some Basement Jaxx, Thursday's dinner would taste that much better." -Justin G., living good in Pike Place

This electronic duo (Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe) got their start as part of the underground house scene of the mid-90's.: ra.co -- This track features Lisa Kekaula from The Bellrays. The pair say, ""Initially, Lisa sounded like a diva and we didn't want that. With two hours before she had to go back to America, Simon strummed an AC/DC riff and I scribbled down some words and suddenly we had something that didn't sound like a Basement Jaxx record - a rock 'n' roll song which didn't even sound modern." tinyurl.com

This track by Basement Jaxx features Lisa Kekaula from The Bellrays! Felix Buxton told Anna Chapman from the Independent: ""We had to kick it off with something. Whatever we chose people would say, 'That isn't house music.' Who cares?" (Complaints about the lack of house music have appeared on the band's website.) It's a brave track, even more so for including a 16-piece orchestra. But it didn't come easily. "Initially, Lisa sounded like a diva and we didn't want that.
