Drawing from his Caribbean heritage and reggae fuelled upbringing, Mali-I commands the spirit of roots rock reggae dub music, infusing influences from House and Techno. Mali says: “Having been a fan of Afriquoi’s hybrid sound for years, the opportunity to remix one of their tracks I couldn’t pass on. I reworked the song with my band, holding onto the singular Kora, vocal and percussion performance from Afriquoi. I managed to perfect the 'dub' over several attempts.
