For Gil, by request! __ his was released as a single from the band's fourth album, Mirror Moves. By this time, Richard and Tim Butler had moved from England to America and the group seemed staged for stardom in that country, but they never really caught on. "Ghost In You" was the only song from the album to chart in the US, reaching #59. www.songfacts.com

"The great thing about this soundtrack is that it really sounds like a legitimate album, not a compilation," A&M Records' David Anderle said "It holds together so well that you almost get the feeling that it could be all songs by one band, just with a lot of different lead singers." -- Read about all the tracks on this classic album: ultimateclassicrock.com

“President Gas” was the opening song off of the P-Furs third studio album, FOREVER NOW (produced by Todd Rundgren). The album was recorded in 1982, and released in September of that year. Written specifically with Ronald Reagan in mind (“He comes in from the left sometimes / He comes in from the right / It’s so heavily advertised that he wants you and I / It’s a real cowboy set, electric company / Every day is happy days / It’s hell without the sin…”), “President Gas” compliments its smart lyrics with the ballsy use of a cello (courtesy of Ann Sheldon). thepsychedelicfurs.com

Furs frontman Richard Butler had a specific audience in mind when he penned the lyrics to this song. He explained in an interview: "It's basically addressed to people who are f--ked up about their sexuality, and says 'Don't worry about it.' It was originally written for gay people." This song features marimba, played by Todd Rundgren, who also produced the album. It features backing vocals from Flo & Eddie (Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan of the Turtles). thepsychedelicfurs.com
