"For BBE Music’s landmark 500th release, the label joins forces with Louie Vega, Leroy Burgess and Patrick Adams to revisit ‘Barely Breaking Even’(1982) , the iconic track after which the label is named.
Coaxed into the studio together by BBE founder Peter Adarkwah, Grammy winning House music hero Louie Vega, arranger extraordinaire and New York disco royalty Patrick Adams, plus the song’s original writer (and king of boogie) Leroy Burgess soon got to work. Even given the caliber of those involved in this special session, the results are simply exceptional."

"Known more for her acting work (Bewitched, The Waltons, Matlock) and her parenting work (Christina Applegate), Nancy Priddy started out as a sixties Greenwich Village folkstress, initially as a member of The Bitter End Singers. In ‘68 she released her lone opus You’ve Come This Way Before, produced by Phil Ramone, propelled by the Funky Drummer Bernard “Pretty” Purdie, and released by Dot Records. "Danger Zone is probably one of the best Boogie singles you never heard. Midnight Express was a band from Illinois that was headed by Robbie M. “Danger Zone” being their first single this track was originally released as a very limited 45 single, but ultimately getting a proper 12″ pressing on The Midnight Express Show Band's TRI-FIRE Records label in 1983. “Danger Zone” is only one of two tracks ever made public by the group. Midnight Express disbanded just a few years after it’s first release due to creative differences, Robbie M, wanted to keep recording original compositions and later went on to create his own Label Ronea Records."
