One Nation Under a Groove is the tenth studio album by American funk and rock band Funkadelic, released in September 1978 on Warner Bros. Records. Recording sessions took place at United Sound Studio in Detroit, Michigan, with one song recorded live on April 15, 1978 at the Monroe Civic Center in Monroe, Louisiana.

The Stone Roses emerged from the remains of English Rose, a Manchester-based band formed by schoolmates John Squire (guitar) and Ian Brown (vocals). In 1985, the Stone Roses officially formed, as Squire and Brown added drummer Reni (born Alan John Wren), guitarist Andy Couzens, and bassist Pete Garner.

Originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil. CéU employs a large cast of singers and musicians. It was produced by Hervé Salters (General Elektriks) and Pupillo (drummer for Brazilian band Naçao Zumbi) using vintage synthezisers and keyboards as well as standard pop instrumentation. The artist wrote all but one song on the set, a cover of "Chico Buarque Song," by the obscure group Fellini.

New York-based band Firewater is a loosely knit ensemble centered around the lead vocals of ex-Cop Shoot Cop bass player Tod A. (born: Tod Ashley). Tod A. went on an extended trek through Thailand, India, Pakistan, Turkey ,and Indonesia. He recorded music on his travels, collaborating with producer Tamir Muskat and local musicians along the way. The results were The Golden Hour, which Bloodshot Records released in spring 2008.

The Vaselines ca. 2010 is Eugene and Frances with guest musicians Stevie Jackson and Bob Kildea from Belle & Sebastian on guitar and bass, and Michael McGaughrin from the 1990s on drums. After the 2014 breakup of his acclaimed band the Smith Westerns, Cullen Omori released his solo debut New Misery, out March 18th on Sub Pop Records. An album that goes beyond the glam punch of the Smith Westerns to new sounds, new sources of inspiration, and greater self-awareness.
The band started as Blue Velvet in 1959. The group gave star billing to John's older brother when he came aboard as lead vocalist and guitarist. The name changed again in 1968 when the group came up with Creedence Clearwater Revival, and their debut album (which included new versions of both "Porterville" and "Walking on the Water". While Tommy Fogerty co-wrote and sang many of the Golliwogs' early singles, as time passed his brother John became more of a presence in the group, taking a larger role in the recording process and even producing their final sessions.
