This is the lead single from The Hope Six Demolition Project, an album recorded by PJ Harvey in a purpose-built public studio during a month-long residency at London's Somerset House. Harvey worked behind one-way glass with her band, producers Flood and John Parish, and engineers, observed throughout by public audiences.

Happy Fat Tuesday, everyone! "Iko Iko" (/ˈaɪkoʊ ˈaɪkoʊ/) is a much-covered New Orleans song that tells of a parade collision between two tribes of Mardi Gras Indians and their confrontation. The song, under the original title "Jock-A-Mo", was written and released in 1953 as a single by Sugar Boy and his Cane Cutters but it failed to make the charts.
