Today we're highlighting Precocious Neophyte – the shoegaze and dreampop project of South Korean musician Jeehye Ham. After gaining recognition within the Korean indie scene and abroad, she moved to Chicago where she started to experiment with home recording. Her newest album, 'Home in the Desert,' was written and recorded in her apartment from 2021 to 2022.

Throughout the month of May KEXP is celebrating Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Local hip-hop duo Blue Scholars is made up of DJ Sabzi and MC Geologic, who have been creating empowering music since 2002. Many of their tracks draw upon Geo's history as an activist within the Filipino American community, and deal with issues of immigration, racism and US imperialism in the Philippines.
