In an interview, she also revealed that Jolene's name and appearance are based on that of a young fan who came on stage for her autograph.

A British singer whose style and husky voice emulated the Motown sounds she adored, Dusty Springfield was born Mary Isabel Catherine Bernadette O'Brien in 1939 in London, England. The genesis of this song goes back to an evening at folk music notable Bert Jansch's house in north London, when fellow acoustic master John Renbourn showed Donovan a D ninth chord. From that Donovan built up a riff that, according to the memories of those present, he then played solidly for the next SEVEN hours!

Aurora Aksnes, known as AURORA, is a Norwegian singer-songwriter and producer.

This is a cover of the Len classic! "In 1999, a group of Canadian rap heads called Len sampled an Andrea True Connection disco hit and made a dizzy, shambling, glorious one-off. The song went top-10 in a whole lot of countries, including the US, and Len, who seemed utterly bemused by the experience, never made another hit."

This "Screamadelica" album opener started out like a "slow, gospel kind of ballad, like a Curtis Mayfield-type thing," frontman Bobby Gillespie said. "We couldn't work out a way of giving it motion or a forward-thrust, so to speak. Then one day (guitarist) Andrew Innes had the idea to do the Bo Diddley-style/Who 'Magic Bus' guitar, very syncopated, and that gave it the forward motion and the rock 'n roll attitude."
The drum intro is quite famous; it was borrowed from "Be My Baby," a 1963 hit by The Ronettes.

Milton R. Brunson (June 28, 1929 – April 1, 1997) was an American gospel musician and former pastor and music director of Christ Tabernacle Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois. Rev. Milton Brunson released his first musical project in 1988, Available to You with Word Records alongside Epic Records. The last album, When You Get High on Jesus, Oh My God, released in 1997 by Hob Records, was a posthumous release.
