Learn more about the score and soundtrack to this worldwide phenomenon on YouTube: youtu.be --- Did you know that Grimes is a character named Lizzy Wizzy in Cyberpunk 2077? --- In 2019, Grimes offered a spoiler-filled description of her character, saying during a livestream, “I play a pop star who committed suicide on stage, and they had to quickly come and perform emergency surgery and replace her whole body with cybernetics while she was dead for an hour. And then she finished the show as a cyborg. One of the greatest pieces of performance art ever made.”

This song was written the first day Modest Mouse began collaborating with guitarist Johnny Marr, who was not yet an official member of the band. Marr is known for his work with The Smiths. Johnny Marr recalled: "On the first night we (Marr and Isaac Brock) just set up two amps opposite each other and just got louder and louder and improvised. I just started playing 'Dashboard,' which I'd been playing a few weeks before and forgotten about. And he instantly started improvising the lyrics, which knocked me out. To see someone produce those lyrics just off the top of his head is amazing: I've never seen it done in such a way."

There’s an excerpt that Yves Tumor quotes on ‘Medicine Burn’, the second track on "Heaven To A Tortured Mind," taken from Hunter S. Thompson’s "Better Than Sex: Confessions of a Political Junkie." The letter, written in the wake of the 1992 US General Election, includes a frightening description of the devil, a warped, terrifying thing with “seven heads and 600 teeth” that Thompson says is, “a nasty thing to feel getting hold of your leg when you’re trying to stay afloat in the lake of fire”. This article about the 2020 album says, "Therein lies the heart of Yves Tumor’s artistry. They possess a stunning, depraved magnetism that pulls you closer the more you try to resist.": thequietus.com

"Echo of the Low Light is a collective of Pacific Northwest artists experimenting with an aleatoric approach to creating music. While the ‘skeleton’ of each song is written, large parts of the composition are left open to chance, each collaborator bringing their own style and feel—unaware of what the others have done. The only instruction given is to keep with the emotional integrity of the song. All parts are recorded individually in the studio, then generatively mixed again and again, until we arrive at a finished piece.": www.echoofthelowlight.com
