The Slits were a London-based punk band that "came together in the melting pot of London’s scorching punk scene" in 1976. This is their dub-punk version of the Marvin Gaye classic. "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" written by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong, for Motown Records in 1966.
James Murphy explained the song to NME in 2010, saying, "I wanted to make something with a happy ending. I wanted it to be about being in a band and how much I like it. (Although) I don't like leaving my life. You leave your home, your friends, your dog. It was always supposed to be a non-professional experiment. I think it is still a non-professional experiment, but it's a non-professional experiment that takes up a much bigger part of my life than I expected." bit.ly

Low was created after Sparhawk's previous project Zen Identity. He asked Mimi Parker to play drums alongside bassist John Nichols, and thus the trio formed in 1993.
Broadcast toured with Low in the summer of 2000.
Broadcast formed in Birmingham in 1995. The Birmingham band Broadcast’s debut album ‘Noise Made By People’ was widely lauded by the music press, earning them an instant cult following. They were known for blending elements of 1960s American psychedelia with experimental electronica, punctuated by Trish Keenan’s inimitable vocals.

Arlo Parks recorded this new song with Adele/Florence and the Machine producer Paul Epworth. Arlo Parks said, "Paul is just a wizard; he has this childlike spirit that I’ve always really loved and he brought that to 'Blades.' I wanted to make something that I can dance to, finally, because I feel like my songs don’t really have that quality in general. So, I took inspiration from bands like ESG, artists like Kaytranada, and a lot of the kind of ’70s Zambian psychedelic rock that I love."
The Chemical Brothers are a British electronic music duo composed of Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, originating in Manchester in 1989. For this one, the duo sampled The Unfolding's "Electric Buddha" from their 1967 "How to Blow Your Mind and Have a Freak-Out Party."

The Torontonian post-punk duo describe ICON as a "calling card," and it perfectly encapsulates the new iteration of Odonis Odonis. Following their 2021 album Spectrums, they started working on this collection of five songs, writing them geared towards some of their favorite veteran and up-and-coming artists.
