Nilüfer Yanya is the daughter of two visual artists, with heritage from Ireland, Barbados, and Turkey. Informally starting her musical career with demos uploaded to SoundCloud in 2014, Yanya turned down an offer to join a girl group produced by Louis Tomlinson of One Direction and focused on developing her own music instead. The music video for "I Miss You" was animated and directed by John Kricfalusi of Spümcø, best known for the Ren & Stimpy cartoons, which Björk admired. It was also directed by Erik Wiese and produced by Stephen Worth. When Björk saw the storyboards, she said that Kricfalusi had "made [her] very cute," and was so pleased that she reportedly exclaimed, "It's like Christmas!" This album just celebrated its 31st anniversary -- and Q-Tip his 51st birthday! This track samples Lou Reed's 1972 song "Walk on the Wild Side." With just two verses in the lyric, Q-Tip takes the first one and Phife Dawg the second. Only 19 when he recorded it, Phife (who died in 2016 at age 45: n.pr) said in later years that he had a hard time listening to his verse because he didn't like the way his voice sounded back then - he thought it was too high-pitched. youtu.be for the official video
