Canadian musician Dan Snaith has said, "the primary impulse on this record was to make something that was generous in the sense that it was for everybody, not just for me locked in a studio by myself." The album features contributions from Jessy Lanza and Owen Pallett. Our Love contains R&B and hip hop influences. Snaith described the lyrics as being more personal compared to previous Caribou releases, saying, "Part of it’s just getting older and being more reflective, thinking, 'What is it that I want to have in my music when I look back on it? What are the things that matter to me?' And they are clichéd things: the love in my life, whether that be my family or my friends."[4] Snaith cited the birth of his daughter as a major reason for the more personal lyrics. bit.ly

Brand new music from Nation of Language! "“From The Hill” is a song reflecting on times when friendships fall apart over romantic entanglement, accompanied by the sensation that you’re somehow watching it happen from above with a more zoomed-out perspective. It can feel at times like certain parts of life are a story with which you’re just following along – the characters enter, they play their role, and then they leave. Often it’ll feel sudden and catch you off guard, and other times you’re able to see that it’s the only way things could have played out despite what you may have wanted." -bit.ly

Vocalist Samuel T. Herring explained the song's meaning. "Seasons was an idea to explain the passage of time in a rocky relationship," he said. "It means as the winter falls apart, by the summer we'll feel love again. Then, as the winter comes, it will get rid of those things we're holding onto." --- The song sums up a tumultuous two-and-a-half year relationship. Herring said: "I was trying to get her to change so that she would love me the way I wanted to be loved. And I tried to change too, until I realized that you can't do that. That's just one of those tragedies of love: it's not always going to work out, even if there is something there." -- Watch the official video: www.youtube.com

he band say the ten-year gap [since their last release] was unintentional, but it was the "collective trauma" of the early days of the pandemic, coupled with the fear of never being able to tour again, that pushed them back into the studio. The results are eight tender tracks that see the band stretching their creative limits and scaling down their propensity for bombast. They may no longer rebel by means of beer-drenched live sets or dangerous five-foot falls from the stage, but by creating from inspiration instead of expectation, they’ve managed to stage a revolt of sorts. bit.ly

"Right Now" is from the 2014 'Seeds' album. It was the band's first album since the 2011 death of their bassist, Gerard Smith. NME observed that "grief and anger are channelled into a propulsive energy, driving the quartet's synthetic pop explorations with added garage-rock urgency" and ultimately concluding that the band "have returned from an uncertain period sounding remarkably fresh." web.archive.org

Featured on the deluxe re-release of their latest album released earlier this year. The duo shared their thoughts on their latest track in a statement: “Sheringham is a small seaside town and there was barely anyone there at that time of year, it was pretty rainy and cold, but we went for walks and sat by the sea and talked a lot. I think you can really hear the surroundings seeping into the song; it’s one of our most emotionally raw songs, but it felt very cathartic to write because of it. We were both writing about different things, but tying them together in a way which felt like it came together really naturally. We wrote a lot of the songs on Two Ribbons individually after this, so it feels nice to release something that we wrote completely together.” Let’s Eat Grandma played live on KEXP back in 2018 - check out the full performance here: www.youtube.com Let's Eat Grandma are on tour! Brand new from The Beths! “I really do believe that love is learned over time,” explains Elizabeth Stokes in a statement. “In the course of knowing a person, you accumulate so much information: their favorite movies, how they take their tea, how to make them laugh, how that makes you feel. And when relationships between people change, or end, all that knowledge doesn’t just disappear. The phrase ‘Expert in a Dying Field’ had been floating around my head for a few years, I was glad to finally capture it when writing this tune.” thebethsnz.bandcamp.com

Frontman Dave Bayley told The Quietus the story of the song: "'Gooey' started off as a beat I'd made for a hip hop artist," he said. "I was just going through some beats I had made for someone, choosing which to send off, and I got to this one and listened to it a couple times. At that point it was just the bass line, drums, percussion, and little glock riff. All of a sudden those chords popped into my head and I got the piano out and started tinkering and then the, 'Right, my little Pooh Bear' vocal line popped into my head, and then the rest. I ended up making this eight-minute groove track. Then I showed it to the guys and we took it to the studio where we shaved off a few minutes." bit.ly Enjoy this video for "Gooey": youtu.be
