Wajatta consists of comedian/musician Reggie Watts and electronic music artist/DJ/producer John Tejada. This track has a cheeky and lighthearted vocal delivery, which defies the anxious lyrical content: "I got a lot on my mind"! The duo describe Wajatta's music very broadly as “electronic dance music with its roots in Detroit techno, Chicago house, ‘70s funk and New York hip hop” but new EP “Do You Even Care Anymore?” released on 3rd December 2021 encompasses the next evolution of their sound. “It has developed into something a bit deeper,” says John. “While our process and Reggie’s vocal improvisation work is still the same when we record, there’s just something new that we settled into this time. The music and the lyrics got a bit deeper.” wajatta.bandcamp.com

Barnett had this to say about the song in a press release: “I think my stance in the past was like, ‘There’s so many love songs and they don’t mean anything,’ but there’s something really special about zooming in on a moment and capturing it. ‘If I Don’t Hear From You Tonight’ comes from the state of where my head was at—trying to communicate honestly instead of keeping [my feelings] guarded.” Read more at Under the Radar: tinyurl.com Courtney Barnett will be Live in the KEXP Studio at noon on Tuesday, December 14th! This debut album from recent Seattle transplant Dean Stafford (aka Early Internet) is a sharp set of nostalgic, melancholic, dreamy indie-pop that taps into a melodic and slightly emo-tinged early 2000s sound reminiscent at times of Death Cab For Cutie, The Go Find, and Jimmy Eat World. Featuring lyrics that reflect on feelings of missed windows of opportunity and lush guitar-driven backdrops, You're Just In Time To Miss Everything carries a distinctively moody, introspective, catchy presence that feels second nature to the Pacific Northwest. earlyinternet.bandcamp.com

New music from Beach House (..at last!) "Superstar compares a failed relationship to a falling star. The first verse sets the tone for its end but throughout the song, the protagonist somewhat wrestles with the reality and reflects on how it was ‘something good’. So while the relationship is over, it was beautiful and to refer to the other as Superstar, suggests there is still love for the other. Although not explicitly stated lyrically, it seems most likely the song depicts the narrative of two star-crossed lovers, a relationship which is thwarted by outside forces." bit.ly Beach House will be playing at the Paramount on April 3rd, 2022 oncetwicemelodytour.com
