This debut album from recent Seattle transplant Dean Stafford (aka Early Internet) is a sharp set of nostalgic, melancholic, dreamy indie-pop that taps into a melodic and slightly emo-tinged early 2000s sound reminiscent at times of Death Cab For Cutie, The Go Find, and Jimmy Eat World. Featuring lyrics that reflect on feelings of missed windows of opportunity and lush guitar-driven backdrops, You're Just In Time To Miss Everything carries a distinctively moody, introspective, catchy presence that feels second nature to the Pacific Northwest.

Barnett had this to say about the song in a press release: “I think my stance in the past was like, ‘There’s so many love songs and they don’t mean anything,’ but there’s something really special about zooming in on a moment and capturing it. ‘If I Don’t Hear From You Tonight’ comes from the state of where my head was at—trying to communicate honestly instead of keeping [my feelings] guarded.” Read more at Under the Radar: tinyurl.com Courtney Barnett will be Live in the KEXP Studio at noon on Tuesday, December 14th! She'll then play The Paramount Theatre in an all-ages show at 8PM that night, with special guest Bartees Strange: You can get tickets: tinyurl.com

"And what a slice of pop perfection Destroy Everything You Touch is. After the briefest of pulsating introductions, the pop harmonies set against the motorik style rhythm is at once familiar but thrillingly new. The song launches straight into what is in effect the first of three separate choruses which then proceed to pummel the listener into submission for the full 3.53 runtime. It is quite frankly astonishing and must be played LOUD." "The lyrics are deliberately vague and cyclical but suggest a destructive relationship, acknowledged by a singer who seems either unable – or unwilling – to extract herself completely from." Of this track, Ian Devaney reveals, "After I dropped out of college I spent a number of years delivering pizzas and waiting tables while I lived at home and tried to get a music career going. One ends up spending a lot of time contending with unrealized dreams and feeling jealousy towards those who have moved on. There’s an inferiority complex that can set in, which if unchecked, can lead down a pretty bitter and self-destructive road. This is a song for driving down that road, as indecision and longing and regret cycle together into mania, until finally, at the end, quiet acceptance and peace wash over. "As for the recording itself… For those later movements, we messed around with tape machines, running things at different speeds and sometimes backwards, talking about William Basinksi’s ‘Disintegration Loops’ and trying to see how we could achieve a similarly somber, ethereal ambiance, but in a comparatively very small space. This one in particular serves as a good example of how, on the album as a whole, we wanted to find a balance between steady motorik endlessness and more spacious ambient moments." bit.ly

Charli XCX is back with big “Sweet Dreams” energy and even bigger hair. Charli’s been teasing her new single “Good Ones” for weeks now, and now it’s finally here in all its blocky-synth glory. A statement from Charli: "I, the inimitable Charli XCX, am releasing a brand new single ‘Good Ones’, accompanied by a twisted, dramatic and quite frankly electrifying music video. The first single of my new chapter embraces all that my life has to offer in today’s world – fame, glamour, inner demons and global hits. ‘Good Ones’ was produced by Oscar Holter of Max Martin’s Wolf Cousins entity, and laments my inability to keep hold of healthy relationships, instead being endlessly drawn back to the dysfunctional and toxic. Filmed in Mexico and co-directed by my new favorite director: Hannah Lux Davis, the ‘Good Ones’ video sees me dramatically mourning the untimely loss of my partner as I battle with the realisation that once again I’ve abandoned the goodness in my life, in favour of the sinister, with a visual aesthetic that marks a new era of me: Charli XCX." bit.ly youtu.be

Back with another new single, Mitski today announced her new album "Laurel Hell," which will be out February 4 via Dead Oceans. The latest song is titled "The Only Heartbreaker" and was co-written with Semisonic's Dan Wilson, who has a long history of working with musicians like Adele, Taylor Swift, and the Chicks (back when they were going by Dixie). --- Mitski said that the song depicts “the person always messing up in the relationship, the designated Bad Guy who gets the blame. It could simply be about that, but I also wanted to depict something sadder beneath the surface, that maybe the reason you’re always the one making mistakes is because you’re the only one trying.”

The debut album from this Swedish outfit is a fantastic set of nostalgic soul-pop that taps into the colorful, carefree, psychedelic spirit of the late 1970s but is further enhanced by sleek modern production techniques and a love for tasty drum breaks. Although sung entirely in Swedish, Dina ögon's groovy sound is universally engaging and has been fittingly described as "the lovechild of Fleetwood Mac, Eric B. & Rakim, Khruangbin and some obscure Motown b-side singles."

Bob Dylan: “… a voice like Billie Holiday’s and played the guitar like Jimmy Reed and went all the way with it.” --- Karen Dalton was one of the most original folk singers in the early 60s Greenwich Village scene but languished in obscurity – mostly of her own doing. She didn’t release an album until 1969. And she hated public performances. Carlos Santana met her at Woodstock and invited her to tour with him in Europe. She accepted and appeared in a few cities but refused to come out of her dressing room (paralyzed with fear) for the rest of the tour. She died in 1993 at the tender age of 55 from an AIDS related illness, destitute and homeless.: bit.ly
