"Go Outside" is a single from Cults‘ first studio self-titled album.
The track, without context, is about escaping a troubled relationship with a person who’d rather spend their time indoors and miserable. With context, the track delves into the mind of a cult member escaping their normal life and finding peace within a commune. The opening quote by notorious cult leader and serial killer Jim Jones is a snippet from the infamous Jonestown recording simply titled the ‘Death Tape.’
The video, directed by Isaih Seret, features daily life in the Peoples Temple. Cults members Brian and Madeline play the roles of the Jonestown band, and they’re seen – with the help of Seret’s SFX – attending Jones' masses and singing in the main pavillion. The video originally featured footage of the aftermath of the murder-suicide, but was cut from production before being released.

In a press release, band member Louis Forster shared a statement about the origins of “In the Stone”:
“In the Stone” is set in Berlin where I moved with my partner at the time, just after finishing school and recording our last album 'We’re Not Talking' at the end of 2017. We were both exploring ourselves—accepting each other’s changes and celebrating flux—but also reckoning with the complicated need for a solid sense of self and the person we loved. Musically the song was influenced by what was playing in the background of our conversations which often took place in Ubers, supermarkets, outside parties etc. So it probably bears more of a subconsciously absorbed modern pop influence than anything else we’ve done as a band.

Damien Jurado's new album (his 17th album!!), 'The Monster Who Hated Pennsylvania,' is out now. Each song on the album tells the story of a different person, all imagined by Jurado. It was self-produced by him and has multi-instrumentalist Josh Gordon on bass, guitar, drums, percussion, and keys.
On 'The Monster Who Hated Pennsylvania', Jurado pulls the curtains shut, blocking out “the light now embarrassed and afraid of the dark,” as he sings on “Tom,” one of the album’s haunting numbers, only to throw them open the exact moment sunshine needs to come flooding in.

It’s been four years since the Blow released an album, 2017’s Brand New Abyss, which we named our Album Of The Week back when it came out. Today, the duo — made up of Khaela Maricich and Melissa Dyne — has put out a new cover of 10cc’s “I’m Not In Love.”
“We’ve both been obsessed with this song, ever since we discovered how it was made,” Maricich said in a statement. “Even though it sounds like an 80’s song it was actually made in 1975, by a rock band, before electronic pop really existed.”
