"Free Love" is the third studio album by duo Sylvan Esso, made up of singer Amelia Meath and producer Nick Sanborn, released on September 25, 2020.

According to the album's press release, Free Your Mind was inspired by the two different Summers of Love (San Francisco's in 1967 and Britain's in 1988 and 1989).

Phoenix was conceived in the 1990s when vocalist Thomas Mars, bassist Deck d'Arcy, and guitarist Chris Mazzalai, who were all friends in school, started playing together as a "garage band" based out of Mars's house in the suburbs of Paris. In 1995, Laurent Brancowitz, Mazzalai's older brother, permanently joined the band on guitar after the end of Darlin', a short-lived band that Brancowitz had formed with Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, who would later form electronic duo, Daft Punk.
José González released his first new song in over five years last Wednesday with the track "El Invento." The song is the first in the Swedish singer-songwriter's career to feature lyrics in Spanish. González credits releasing his first work in Spanish to speaking the language with his young daughter in a statement: "Every now and then I try to write lyrics in Spanish - this time I succeeded! I guess talking to Laura in Spanish every day helped. I started writing "El Invento" around 2017 when she was born. The song is about the questions - who we are, where we’re going and why? "It was inspired by Carl Sagan’s Cosmos as well as “If I Needed You” by Townes Van Zandt, this song is named for a grim retirement home in Florida. It’s about somebody who was born sheltered realizing how large the world is and how unimportant they are. Julia Steiner’s vocal contributions brought the song to fruition, and it was a lot of fun to make. We spent a lot of time focusing on the drums and percussion, using a phone recording of some cicadas in a quieter part towards the end of the song, and I really like all the stuff Dan came up with like the Agogo bells and Rototoms."

This London-based artist’s debut album is a promising set of retro-leaning, jazz-tinged R&B that’s reminiscent at times of Adele along with Amy Winehouse, featuring a warm, soulful sound with acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards, horns, strings and more accompanying her dynamic, smoky vocals and lyrics of love, loss and autonomy.
“Some songs take on a lot of forms until they finally end up the way they do and this was one definitely one of those,” explains Cherry Glazerr’s Clementine Creevy. “It lived a few different lives for sure, I just kept changing up the rhythms until I was like, ‘oh yeah that’s it right there!’ I wanted to give it a sort of early ‘aughts pop production feel, with the interplay between the acoustic guitar figure and the bass synth and the 808 hits during the choruses.” bit.ly

David West's power-pop project Rat Columns are based out of Perth, Australia -- their fourth album drops on Feb 12, with engineering by Griffin Harrison and DW, and mixing from Mikey Young. In a statement, the band describes the album as "plunging headfirst into an azure sea of power pop, rock’n’roll and indie.
