The collaborative group of local band ODESZA, and Australian producer Golden Features told Apple Music about this lead single: [“HEART ATTACK”] was a melting point between the two groups' distinctive sounds, and served as a turning point in the writing process and an inspiration for the other vocal tracks [on the album]. It took form over three continents, a process that would literally be impossible at this moment. It’s become a reminder of how exploration feeds creativity and leads us to places we’d otherwise never reach."

As the title suggests, it's Album #12 for Rhett Miller and company (not counting live or holiday records) who have kept the band going for 27 years. “Somehow what we’ve got never breaks down,” Rhett Miller says. “We experienced some close calls over the last few years and I think that led us to this dawning realization of the fragility of it all. At the same time, it also led us to this increased gratitude for the music and the brotherhood we’ve been so lucky to share. I think all of that combined to make recording this album one of the most intensely joyful experiences we’ve ever had as a band.”
The first single from the album is "Turn Off the TV," which juxtaposes the allure of a free cable hookup ("They're running a marathon of Kids in the Hall") with more carnal pleasures. The video, directed by Liam Lynch, makes good use of a pile of old school TVs and quarantined performances, and features cameos from Puddles Pity Party, Jenna Fischer, Janeane Garofalo, Paul F Tompkins, Dave Hill, Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen and more. bit.ly

It’s also the first to feature both members on vocals and first recorded in the studio they built in the woods around their Durham home base. The influential Scottish duo of Aidan Moffat and Malcolm Middleton have released “The Turning of Our Bones,” their first song since splitting up after the 2005 LP The Last Romance. When they split in 2006, Arab Strap said there was “no animosity, no drama,” adding, “We simply feel we’ve run our course.” Since then, Moffat and Middleton have released several solo albums—Middleton under his own name, Moffat sometimes working as Lucky (or L.)
