Karen Dalton was one of the most original folk singers in the early 60s Greenwich Village scene but languished in obscurity - mostly of her own doing. She didn’t release an album until 1969, and she hated public performances. Carlos Santana met her at Woodstock and invited her to tour with him in Europe. She accepted and appeared in a few cities but refused to come out of her dressing room - paralyzed with fear - for the rest of the tour.
Dalton passed away in 1993 at the tender age of 55: bit.ly

Fred Lincoln "Link" Wray Jr. was a Shawnee guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist who became popular in the late 1950s. His 1958 instrumental single "Rumble", reached the top 20 in the United States; and was one of the earliest songs in rock music to utilize distortion and tremolo. He’s also been credited with being the creator of the modern “power chord” on guitar.
This album was recorded in 1971 by Link's brother Vernon at "Wray's Shack Three Track", a three track studio Link Wray had converted from an old chicken shack on his farm in Maryland.

The film ‘Dreamin’ Wild’ is named after Donnie and Joe Emerson’s debut album originally released in 1979 and follows the story of Donnie and Joe as they are approached by a representative from Light in the Attic, who says he thinks the album Donnie and his brother Joe recorded as teenagers will be the next big hit.
Originally released in 1979, "Dreamin' Wild" is the sonic vision of the talented Emerson boys, recorded in a family-built home studio in Fruitland in rural Washington State. Read more about this duo at lightintheattic.net.

This song samples multiple elements of The Commodores' 1976 "High on Sunshine." Lionel Richie got co-writing credit because of the sample. "Sunshine" also samples the Beastie Boys' "Slow and Low" and the hook from "Blow Your Head" from Fred Wesley and the J.B.'s.
This track features five different members of the collective singing in their native languages from the countries Mali, Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and Congo-Brazzaville. Alongside the familiar voices of Mamani Keïta, Fafa Ruffino and Kandy Guira, the track features new members Alvie Bitemo, an activist and actress originally from Congo-Brazzaville, and renowned Ivorian artist Dobet Gnahoré.

Originally released in 1970. The album, which was recorded over two days in February 1970 featured Jamal on piano, Jamil Nasser on bass, and Frank Gant on drums.
Last year, Cat Power played a set recreating Bob Dylan’s legendary 1966 show at the Royal Albert Hall.
Dylan’s 1966 concert was the culmination of one of the most consequential tours in the history of rock & roll – when he electrified his songs, and by doing so enraged his devoted audience.
In November 2022, Cat Power brought those songs back to the Hall, performing them in the same order as Dylan himself: the first half of the show being an acoustic set before being joined by her electric band for the second half.
Dinner Party, the supergroup of Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper, 9th Wonder, and Kamasi Washington, released Enigmatic Society, their third album, in April. This track combines slinky saxophone, melodic piano and Ray’s sleek, neo-soul vocals while the foundation of the song incorporates elements of nature with a water sample looped throughout.
Black Thought's collaborative project with El Michels Affair. This track features KIRBY! Michels says of their collaboration: "Before long, Black Thought was coming around the studio and would jam with us from time to time.
