NEW MUSIC!! From the London five-piece's forthcoming sophomore release, "Where I'm Meant to Be", due out November 4.
Ezra Collective's new era, a venture in discovered maturity and raised stakes, will be defined by the anticipated second album. "Where I’m Meant To Be" is a thumping celebration of life, an affirming elevation in the Ezra Collective's winding hybrid sound and refined collective character. The songs marry cool confidence with bright energy. Full of call-and-response conversations between their ensemble parts, a natural product of years improvising together on-stage, the album - which also features Sampa The Great, Kojey Radical, Emile Sandé, Steve McQueen, and Nao - will light up sweaty dance floors and soundtrack dinner parties in equal measure.

"Gemini Rights is essentially me coming into myself after a breakup. It's a story that is very fluid [and] very fun. To me, the subject matter could be sad if you look at it that way, but I feel like it is way more hopeful - and that's the story: finding happiness. I'm finding myself after a heartbreak and I am excited for people to hear this record." bit.ly
Lacy performs at Showbox SoDo on November 7th.

Emmanuel "Jagari" Chanda told Rolling Stone: "Let me confess that at my age, I would be more at ease creating and performing music than doing anything else, because the music touches my soul. "Lolly" Vegas [Candido Albelando Vasquez-Vegas] was born this day in 1939. He passed in 2010 at 70 years.
Redbone, a nod to their heritage, was a Native American band from Coalinga, California, led by the brothers Pat and Candido ("Lolly") Vasquez. They were managed by Bumps Blackwell, who guided Little Richard and Sam Cooke to success. To avert discrimination, he convinced the brothers to use a different last name, so they became known as Pat and Lolly Vegas. Redbone earned an audience playing clubs on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles at the same time The Doors were on that scene.
When they performed this live, Redbone often wore traditional Native American garb and introduced it with chanting and dancing.
Music Supervisor, Tiffany Anders, joined KEXP's Martin Douglas to discuss her path to music supervision, working with a kindred musical spirit in Harjo, the triumphs and challenges of creating an authentic musical experience for the characters on Reservation Dogs, and more: www.kexp.org
Recorded and released in 1976, produced by Lee "Scratch" Perry. Though written in the context of Jamaica's turf wars and police violence, it became closely associated with the rioting at London's Notting Hill Carnival that year.
It would later be covered by The Clash on their 1977 self-titled debut.
Released in March 1976. It was the band's first album to hit the top ten on the Billboard charts since Caravanserai in 1972, and ultimately was certified gold by the RIAA.
Santana will be starting a residency at House of Blues Las Vegas in November.

New EP from Pacific Northwest Native LIVt, who at her core, values creativity, living freely, and the service of others. Her music is a reflection on love, what it means to be black and outspoken and as well as what it takes to get out of your own way and be whoever you want. Be damned anyone else.
Mimicking the northwest weather, she describes her music as laidback, sometimes dark, but always soulful. livt.bandcamp.com

Profound Mysteries II contains 10 tracks, featuring guest appearances from Astrid S, Karen Harding, Susanne Sundfør, Jamie Irrepressible and Pixx.
"I use the word 'rave' loosely, but I mean a touch of The KLF and a touch of the classic house screamer – but dialled down," Svein Berge told NME about the song. "That's why we wanted [Karen Harding]voice for the song 'Unity.' We actually wrote that track in 1992 in my bedroom. We thought it would be nice to bring it up and made it like we made it back then."
