"Incient is a song that I sing with my eyes closed and feel it very deeply. Musically It’s deep rooted reggae, which I feel is a really great contrast to my last single. There is a certain spirit it carries in the lyrics and delivery. I feel it is brought about by the ethereal soundscape of the music, which is almost hypnotic to me," Protoje said.

Rokia Koné is one of Mali's leading female artists. She is also a member of the West African music collective Les Amazones d'Afrique.
BAMANAN shoots for the stars with a bold mash-up of tradition and technology, thanks to the rather unlikely pairing of Koné with Irish producer Jacknife Lee. Koné may be a newcomer, but Lee has made a career out of working with big, big names, with producer credits for the likes of U2, Taylor Swift, The Killers, and the last two R.E.M. albums. There may be a fear that a mainstream producer like Lee would opt for bombast over nuance and small details, but the synergy between singer and producer is evident throughout, with Lee always deferring to the song.

"Wild Seeds" revolves around a sample from one of Sa-Roc and hip-hop's greatest influences, Andre 3000 on Outkast's 1997 radio hit, "Rosa Parks".
"I met a Gypsy and she hipped me to some life game," says Andre 3000, originally referring to R&B Oracle and then partner Erykah Badu except here, the "gypsy" is Sa-Roc whose mind-bending lyrics certainly fit the title.
