“Naima” was written in 1959 by John Coltrane in honor of his first wife Juanita Austin, more often known by the nicknames of Naima (pronounced Ny-EE-ma) or Nita. The song was first recorded in May 1959 for the album “Giant Steps”, which was released in early 1960 and selected in 2004 by the Library of Congress for the National Recording Registry. Biographer John Litweiler said “… the melody of ‘Naima’–quiet, sunfilled–is worthy of Coltrane’s reverence, the unsuspected calm in the midst of his storms….”. Coltrane recorded this song many times over the course of his life, and is said to have considered it his best composition.: www.jazzstandards.com

New York no-wave group Gustaf use their rowdy, thorny songs to poke and prod the irritating and ridiculous questions about being a sentient invasive species on this spinning globe. Package Pt. 2, a follow-up to their 2021 debut, Audio Drag for Ego Slobs, hammers away at a clawing sentiment that, no matter how the years pass, existence doesn’t get easier or ever start to make sense. tinyurl.com

#1 Record is the debut album by the American rock band Big Star. It was released in August 1972 by Memphis-based Ardent Records.
Many critics praised the album's vocal harmonies and songcraft but #1 Record suffered from poor distribution and sold fewer than 10,000 copies upon its initial release. However, #1 Record gained wider attention in the late 1970s when EMI reissued it with Radio City as a double LP - #1 Record/Radio City. The same combination was used when the album was released on CD in 1992.
In 2020, it was ranked number 474 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. It was voted number 188 in the third edition (2000) of Colin Larkin's All Time Top 1000 Albums.
That guitar tone and that bass tone have no right sounding that good together

New music from Bully (aka Alicia Bognanno).
Bognanno says, “The song was originally recorded with a drum machine and electric guitar; it was also quite a bit faster. When I played the demo for JT Daly (producer), he had the idea of moving it to the piano. I remember saying out loud, ‘Can you believe I'm trusting anybody like this?’ We both started laughing because starting off as someone who used to record, mix, and produce their own records to avoid the vulnerability that comes with working out creative ideas in the company of others, it was a huge step for me. That was our first real bonding moment, acknowledging that we were mutually up for trying new things and seeing each other's ideas through before one of us shut it down."
