New local music! All scenes shot in Seattle too www.youtube.com
NEW MUSIC from Aidan Noell from Nation of Language, featuring vocals from LCD Soundsystem's Nancy Whang and production by Nick Millhiser from Holy Ghost! You can pre-order this on 12" vinyl! www.nationoflanguage.com
This is a cover of the 1981 single by A Number of Names, one of the first Detroit techno tracks ever! It took its name from a series of high-school parties held in Detroit called "Charivari"
Noell says: "At a time when everything around us is difficult and grating and extremely real, for these six minutes I indulge in a total fantasy – an alternate universe, both of the past and future, that’s mysterious and sexy and fun. Inhabiting that world as a character who is unaffected and cool was a brief and welcome respite for me, and I hope that listening to it can transport others to that place as well."
It's September again!!
Out now! Live on KEXP Vol 10!

Happy 72nd birthday to Michael Rother!
Having broken off from an early incarnation of Kraftwerk, Michael Rother and Klaus Dinger quickly began the recording sessions for what would become Neu! It was released in 1972 by Brain Records. It was the first album recorded by the duo of Michael Rother and Klaus Dinger after leaving Kraftwerk in 1971. They continued to work with producer Konrad "Conny" Plank, who had also worked on the Kraftwerk recording sessions.
The new album from this Austin band will come out on September 9th.
"Trotter's new collaboration with the producer Danger Mouse, is that quintessential Black Thought album, the one long awaited by diehards, the first of his recent projects to transcend his supreme skill as a rhymer and define his music beyond his intense technique." tinyurl.com

PJ Harvey and composer Tim Phillips joined forces for this Leonard Cohen. The collaboration was part of the series soundtrack for 'Bad Sisters.'
Sharon Horgan, executive producer of the show, sought out PJ Harvey specifically for the cover.
In a press release, Harvey said of the cover: “It was a very enjoyable day spent recording the version of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Who by Fire’ for Bad Sisters. I had spoken to Sharon Horgan in advance of the recording session, so I understood why she felt the song’s lyric was so perfect for the series, but also understood what nuances of Leonard’s performance she most loved, and therefore what to try and recapture but in my own way."
Horgan revealed that Harvey had composed the theme tune and co-written its soundtrack.

The Yorkshire based outfit said this about "Blood Money": "It is a reaction to the culture of greed that’s seeping into the corridors of power across the world. It’s a reminder that ultimately, we all suffer at the hands of self-serving elites, and it’s our personal perspective on the effects of dirty politics on the everyday lives of ourselves and people we know." ffm.to

Frontman Syd Minsky-Sargeant discussed the new album's creation: "I like the contrast of it being happy, uplifting music and really dark lyrics. It’s not a minimal record, certainly compared to the first one. That’s because there’s been a lot more going on that needed to be said."
