This is a wonderful cover of Lou Rawls 1967 song. Lou Rawls originally released “Christmas Will Really Be Christmas” on his 1967 holiday album, Merry Christmas Ho! Ho! Ho!
“Doing a Christmas song is not exactly something that we normally set out to do, but this Lou Rawls song is amazing,” Adrian Quesada said. “It was produced by one of my favorite producers and arrangers, David Axelrod, so on that side of it I was drawn to it initially.” Eric Burton provides lead vocals on the song. “It touches on a message that I think is poignant to today’s times in that Christmas isn’t really Christmas until everybody has peace and happiness,” Quesada added.

This song was inspired by the love affair between writer Ann Druyan and her late husband, the cosmologist Carl Sagan. Sagan was chosen to chair a committee that selected a collection of songs, sounds and images representing planet Earth that were put on a pair of golden discs sent into interstellar space on board the two Voyager spacecraft launched in 1977. Ann Druyan was on the committee as creative director, and she and Sagan fell in love when they were compiling the records.

The Metro is a reference to the underground transportation system in Paris, and the song tells the story of a woman riding a train to see a former love. Berlin shot the clips for "The Metro" and another song, "Sex," back to back over two days. Lead singer Terri Nunn was not happy about shooting the subway scene over and over. Exhausted, she got frustrated and started crying, which was the footage they used. Her anger and tears were exactly what the director was looking for.

Remembering Lemmy on his birthday <3 He passed away on the 28th of December, just having reached his 70th.
Lemmy recalled writing the song in an interview with Mojo magazine February 2011: "'Ace of Spades' is unbeatable, apparently, but I never knew it was such a good song. Writing it was just a word-exercise on gambling, all the clichés. I'm glad we got famous for that rather than for some turkey, but I sang 'the eight of spades' for two years and nobody noticed."
