The NY Times writes that the songs inspired by Shaka King’s film about the 1969 police killing of the Illinois Black Panther Party chairman Fred Hampton mostly don’t appear in the movie, but they expand its story. This song by H.E.R. (pronounced "her", an acronym for Having Everything Revealed) is the closing song.: www.nytimes.com

Swedish artist’s second album.
If anything, it’s like a preacher’s album,” she says. “I’m preaching to myself, teaching myself, telling myself off in the lyrics. It’s about accepting loss of power, changing expectations, and getting rid of some heavy baggage. That’s the way I made the album, and it meant I had no limits – every single idea I had, I tried. When I said I was falling out of love with music, that feels like a very long time ago now.”

Art d’Ecco said in a press release “Nostalgia is a powerful drug; it distorts and reframes the past, often reconciling our memories into one place for easy access and to better suit our current disposition or state of mind. I wanted all the hallmarks of a classic rock song — the kind of music that used to blast from the kitchen radio at the summer jobs I’d worked at as a teen. Guitar solo? Check. Drum solo? Check. Big horns and sparkly synths? Check.” His sophomore album, In Standard Definition, is out on April 23rd via Paper Bag. bit.ly

Local band Polyrhythmics had this to say about the new album - "Fondue Party is a concept record of tracks recorded during the Man from the Future sessions, but deliberately saved for this EP. This collection of songs explores the group’s downtempo, chilled-out side with heavy dub influence" polyrhythmics.bandcamp.com
