The 1980 release of this album includes a cover of the Beatles' "Everbody's Got Something to Hide" where Glenn Mercer is credited for playing "other guitar, vocals, bell, [and] coat rack." The re-issue also includes a cover of the Stones' "Paint It Black" recorded much later by the band. I haven't heard it but, I can only hope this recording found Mercer graduating to scrap metal and building tools ala, Einstürzende Neubauten.
VU (definitely an influence on The Feelies) recently settled with the Andy Warhol Foundation over the trademark to the banana design. The terms were undisclosed. They should both watch their backs though, as I've heard that Seattle based patent trolls, Intellectual Ventures, actually purchased the patent rights to all "Peeling Fruits" just last year.

Two days ago the NME headline ran: "Daft Punk release their own brand of 'Get Lucky' condoms." Two hours ago the headline at Wired "Get Unlucky: Durex Denies Involvement in Daft Punk Condoms." It sounds like DIPLO started the rumor, but who knows if he was getting paid by Daft Punk, or Durex for that matter.

Eddie Kendricks, left the Temptations in 1971, to pursue his solo career right after recording lead vocals on "Just My Imagination."
From the Sub Pop bio: "Musically, The Sun Dogs is an album based on the idea of sifting through the past, extracting bits and pieces, and re-imagining these into new forms. It’s about observing and building upon musical traditions. Thematically, Cheveyo describes The Sun Dogs as being about 'the everyday blues that capitalism and its hit man, religion, bring on all of us.'"
