In the early 1960s, Clyde Stubblefield worked with Otis Redding as his touring drummer. "Cupid" was originally written by Sam Cooke.
Amy Winehouse released a cover of "Cupid" on the deluxe edition of her album Back to Black. This remix of "You Know I'm No Good" features Ghostface Killah, and appears on the Wu-Tang member's solo album More Fish, as well as the US edition of Back to Black as a bonus track.
Wu-Tang Clan's classic track "C.R.E.A.M." was featured on their 1993 album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Wu-Tang member Ghostface Killah doesn't get a verse on this song, but you heard him on the previously played Amy Winehouse remix.

Gang Starr is the hip hop duo of Guru and DJ Premier. Guru passed away in April 2010.
From Donald Byrd's album Places and Spaces, released on Blue Note in 1975. This album features contributions from Larry Mizell and Alphonso "Fonce" Mizell, better known as the Mizell Brothers.
Donald Byrd was also a member of Us3. Both "Cantaloop" and "Change (Makes You Want to Hustle)" were produced by the Mizell Brothers. Madlib has several releases on Blue Note Records, alongside Donald Byrd. Madlib is also a longtime Stones Throw Records artist.
Flying Lotus is an experimental hip hop producer who has worked with Madlib in the past. Before he went by Flying Lotus, he was an intern at Stones Throw Records. This song features Thundercat on bass.
Stephen Lee Bruner, better known by his stage name Thundercat, is a bassist, record producer, and singer/songwriter from LA. You just heard him featured on Flying Lotus' 2010 track "MmmHmm."
Thundercat was briefly a member of the LA punk band Suicidal Tendencies. He replaced former bass player Josh Paul in 2002 and remained a member of the band until 2011.
Former Suicidal Tendencies bassist Robert Trujillo is currently a member of Metallica. He joined the band in 2003.

The title of the track “Julian’s Dream” was inspired by Shabazz Palaces' collaboration with Julian Casablancas of The Strokes. Here's Ishmael Butler discussing the inspiration behind the song: "I love what he [Julian Casablancas] does and his s— too, even back since the Strokes. We wanted to work together. We tried to do it, but it didn’t work out because of timing and this and that. We wanted to be together in the studio. He sent the stuff back, we jammed on it for a little while, but it didn’t make it onto the album. Not because it wasn’t good, we just didn’t get the chance to get it right. We were emailing back and forth and he was like, “Man, my dream would be to have you sing instead of me on this thing.” I ended up doing some singing on it and that’s why I called the song “Julian’s Dream.”"

Saint Etienne is an English band formed in London in 1990 by Sarah Cracknell, Bob Stanley, and Pete Wiggs. They’re well known for uniting 1990s club culture with 1960s pop influences.
Sub Pop Release 510! The Yo-Yos are a British rock and roll band, formed in 1998 by ex-The Wildhearts bassist, Danny McCormack and Tom Spencer. The pair recruited members of Spencer’s past groups Sugarsnatch and The Lurkers, as well.
As the Yo-Yo’s toured the UK, they were signed by Sub Pop and released their debut album, Uppers & Downers in 2000.

This solo track from Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell was posthumously released as part of a collection of Johnny Cash's unrecorded poetry, lyrics and letters put to music called Forever Words. The song was the first track to feature Cornell's vocals since the singer's tragic passing in May 2017.
