Max Clarke has a knack for conjuring up warmth in his music, like endless summer or ageless youth. His debut LP, Hollow Ground, crackles with the heat of a love-struck nostalgia, woven together with a palpable Everly Brothers’ influence and retro sound. It reaches back into decades of plainspoken, unfussy, and squarely American storytelling and pulls it forth into 2018.

'Revolver' expanded the scope of pop music in terms of the range of musical styles used on the album, compositional form, and the lyrical content of its songs. Change was masterminded by Italian producers and writers Jacques Fred Petrus and Mario Malavasi. They initially approached Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards of Chic to produce the debut album of their dance collective. Although the duo declined, The Glow of Love is one of the most notable, affectionately slavish copies of the Chic sound ever released.

Sub Pop Count-Up #1077 (getting closer!!!) // Mogwai are a Scottish post-rock band, formed in 1995 by Stuart Braithwaite, Barry Burns, Dominic Aitchison, and Martin Bulloch. They are known for lengthy guitar-based instrumental pieces that make heavy use of distortion and effects. They signed a distribution deal with Sub Pop in 2010 and released this single in 2014.

Keigo Oyamada, also known by his moniker Cornelius, is a Japanese recording artist and producer who co-founded Flipper's Guitar, an influential Shibuya-kei band, and subsequently embarked on a solo career. In 1997, he released the album Fantasma, which landed him praise from American music critics, who called him a "modern-day Brian Wilson" or the "Japanese Beck".
According to a Radio X interview with Damon Albarn, the album was produced within a short timeframe so the band would have new material to play at upcoming festivals. As a byproduct of the album's expedited production, 'The Now Now' features fewer guest collaborators than previous Gorillaz records.

"Global a Go-Go" was released on this day in 2001. Global a Go-Go is the second album by Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros, displaying trademark genre-melding folk-rock and Strummer's unique lyrical style.
'Joe Strummer 001' is made up of often rare and unreleased material, songs Strummer wrote for soundtracks throughout the years or demos that were uncovered after his death. It will be released on September 28th via Ignition Records.

Smokescreens began as a love letter to the Flying Nun scene of the 1980’s and it’s outlying bands. Chris Rosi and Corey Cunningham had become friends when the pair toured together in their bands Plateaus and Terry Malts in 2011.
