Following a DNA test which revealed that he descends from people of multiple parts of the world, Residente felt inspired to visit those locations and record with local musicians. The trips resulted in a 13-track album, two of which ("Somos Anormales" and "Desencuentro") were released as singles and received promotional videos.

But the band reconvened in Houston last year to record their latest with Uniform’s Ben Greenberg - 'Readjusting The Locks' is out May 17th on Sacred Bones.

Paying tribute to the late Ranking Roger. Born Roger Chalrery in 1963 in Birmingham, England, Ranking Roger rose to prominence with the two-tone band the Beat (known as the English Beat in the US), releasing three albums: 1980’s I Just Can’t Stop It, 1981’s Wha’ppen?, and 1982’s Special Beat Service.
He departed the group with his bandmate Dave Wakeling in 1983 to form General Public, who would go on to release 1984’s All The Rage and 1986’s Hand To Mouth. Roger and Wakeling eventually went their separate ways, though would reunite in the ’90s to record a new album, Rub It Better, and a popular cover of the Staples Sisters “I’ll Take You There.”
Recorded at the famed Electric Lady Studios in NYC’s Greenwich Village – Electric Lady Sessions is a double album live collection featuring classic LCD Soundsystem songs, three covers, and newer material from the band’s latest album, American Dream.

'No Geography,' the first album in four years from the Chemical Brothers, will be released on April 12th.

Celebrating the life of Teddy Pendergrass, born on this day in 1950. Pendergrass launched a solo career in 1977 and became the leading R&B male artist of his day, releasing five consecutive platinum albums, which was a then-record setting number for a rhythm and blues artist. His 1980 album TP included his signature song, "Love TKO".
Remembering Ranking Roger, who passed away at the age of 56. "Tenderness" was a Top 40 hit in Canada (No. 11) and the US (No. 27). The song's success benefited from appearing in the John Hughes films Sixteen Candles (1984) and Weird Science (1985) from the time period, and it would later appear in Amy Heckerling's Clueless (1995) and in the horror film Devil's Due (2014).

Written in 1989, "Been a Son" was first recorded in the studio in August 1989 by Steve Fisk at Music Source in Seattle, Washington. Of the five songs recorded, only two were officially released, with both "Been a Son" and "Stain" appearing on the Blew EP in December 1989. The session was Nirvana's first time recording on two inch, 24 track tape, and Fisk recalls that "when it was all over with, we played 'Been a Son' really loud on the big stupid speakers three times and stood up on the client tables in the back room and danced."
