"Setting Sun" features uncredited vocals from Noel Gallagher of Oasis, who also co-wrote the track with duo members Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons.
Gallagher used an old Oasis song, "Comin' on Strong", as the basis for the lyrics to "Setting Sun". Both songs are heavily influenced by the Beatles' Revolver track "Tomorrow Never Knows".

“Take Me With U” wasn’t originally intended as a Prince and the Revolution song. The plan had been for the track to make its debut on the self-titled album by the Prince-created group Apollonia 6. Instead, Prince sang the track on "Purple Rain" as a duet with Apollonia.
Prince played all of the instruments on the track—a lead guitar, piano, synthesizers, and a Linn LM-1 drum machine.
