South African award-winning talented artists, singers, songwriters and stage performers DBN Gogo, Sino Msolo, Kamo Mphela, Young Stunna & Busiswa joined forces together on a new mind-blowing song titled Love & Royalty (Believe).
Director Ryan Coogler, composer Ludwig Göransson, Archie Davis (chief creative officer at Def Jam), and Dave Jordan produced the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack album. “Ryan and I talked about the importance of creating an immersive journey of sound and voice,” Göransson said in a statement. “If we used a song in the film, we wanted it to be the entire song, and to be connected to the story. Thematically, we wanted to move the audience from grief to celebration. When you listen to the soundtrack, you can close your eyes and relive the experience of the movie. That was the intention.”

Kyiv-based band Love’n’Joy completed their latest album Half Home just three days before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Vocalist/guitarist Anton Pushkar explained to Psychdelic Baby Magazine, "The idea of the album title was mainly connected with the loss of Crimea, the place where me and Sergey (Zlobin, drummer) were born and raised and where our relatives live under Russian occupation. After the events of February 24, when we had to leave our native Kyiv, this feeling multiplied.”

Hello Mary, the Brooklyn-based indie-rock trio of Helena Straight, Mikaela Oppenheimer, and Stella Wave, has announced a self-titled debut album. The record is coming in March on Frenchkiss, and in addition to recent singles “Rabbit,” “Evicted,” and “Looking Right Into The Sun,” it has the freshly revealed “Spiral.” The new song has an ominous, lurching momentum, with Straight and Wave harmonizing eerily over chugging, churning wall of guitar and bass. On the dreamy centerpiece “In My Arms,” Big Joanie reach an anthemic high. “I’ve compromised too many times in my life,” vocalist and guitarist Stephanie Phillips insists, surrounded by backing harmonies and surf-rock guitar, “One day I’ll make the great escape/And send another you away/But now I dream/Of only you in my arms.” On the song’s reprise, the group slows the song down to a crawl with a thudding, Ronettes-style backbeat and feedback-heavy guitar, cushioning each yearning word in echo.

Clyde Stubblefield (April 18, 1943 – February 18, 2017) was an American drummer best known for his work with James Brown. A self-taught musician, he was influenced by the sound of natural rhythms around him. His drum patterns on Brown's recordings are considered funk standards. He recorded and toured with Brown for six years and settled in Madison, Wisconsin, where he was a staple of the local music scene. Often uncredited, samples of his drum patterns were heavily used in hip hop music. He was the recipient of an honorary doctorate in fine arts.
Clyde Stubblefield and Jabo Starks wer two drummers closely identified with James Brown during his heyday in the 1960s and ’70s. Both drummers played on some of Brown’s best-known albums, including “Sex Machine,” “I Got the Feelin’,” “Say It Loud — I’m Black and I’m Proud” and “Cold Sweat.” Starks drummed on singles like “Get Up I Feel Like Being a Sex Machine,” “Super Bad” and “The Payback.”
All those songs, like most of Brown’s work, have had long afterlives. They have been sampled in songs by hip-hop artists like L. L. Cool J, Kendrick Lamar, A Tribe Called Quest, the Roots, the Black Eyed Peas and Kool Moe Dee
