From Belfast-born electronic musician and soundtrack composer David Holmes and featuring vocals from Raven Violet and Laura Lippie! David Holmes is also part of the alternative music trio Unloved, at which he also collaborated with Raven.
With lyrics in both French and English, the track calls out the governments of the world for their corruption and incompetence during the pandemic and their inaction in the face of the climate crisis.

British musician and producer Andy Gill formed the band Gang of Four in 1976; Andy Gill died in early 2020 due to complications of COVID-19. Gill produced or co-produced albums for bands ranging from The Jesus Lizard and Killing Joke to Therapy? and Michael Hutchence, and the Stranglers.
The band were originally asked to perform this song on Top of the Pops. However, when the show's producers heard the line "And the rubbers you hide in your top left pocket" they asked the group to change the word rubbers to rubbish for fear of causing offence; the four band members refused and the appearance was cancelled.

Mitski is a Japanese American singer-songwriter based out of New York City. Laurel Hell, her upcoming studio album that she describes as a "soundtrack for transformation", is due out February 4, 2022.

Elvis Costello & the Imposters have dropped the new song “Magnificent Hurt.” It’s the first single from their upcoming The Boy Named If, which arrives on January 14th.
“The full title of this record is The Boy Named If (And Other Children’s Stories),” Costello said in a statement. “‘IF,’ is a nickname for your imaginary friend; your secret self, the one who knows everything you deny, the one you blame for the shattered crockery and the hearts you break, even your own. Happy birthday to Jason Pierce of Spiritualized!
The new track was inspired by J. Spaceman’s (aka Jason Pierce) experiences in lockdown, with the frontman saying: “I felt like I’d been in training for this my whole life.” It’s a buzzy, psych-tinged affair spanning just under seven minutes, carried by reverberant guitars and ultra-bright vocal harmonies.
A press release reports that ‘Everything Was Beautiful’ came together between 11 different studios, as well as Pierce’s own home, with the bandleader jamming out on a mind-boggling 16 instruments.
“There was so much information on it that the slightest move would unbalance it, but going around in circles is important to me,” he said. “Not like you’re spiraling out of control but you’re going around and around and on each revolution you hold onto the good each time. Sure, you get mistakes as well, but you hold on to some of those too and that’s how you kind of… achieve. Well, you get there.” bit.ly

LCD Soundsystem mastermind James Murphy said David Bowie helped convince him to reassemble his band after they split in 2011. Murphy also discussed working on the late musician’s final album, Blackstar, during an interview with Lauren Laverne on BBC 6 Music radio.
“I spent a good amount of time with David Bowie, and I was talking about coming back and getting the band back together,” Murphy recalled. “He said, ‘Does it make you uncomfortable?’ I said ‘Yeah,’ and he said, ‘Good – it should. You should be uncomfortable.’
