New music!
Following the success of the single “i wanna be your girlfriend,” Norwegian artist Marie Ulven has announced the debut album from her project girl in red. if i could make it go quiet is out April 30 via AWAL. It features the new single “Serotonin,” which was co-produced by FINNEAS and Matias Tellez.
Ulven said of the album in a statement: "if i could make it go quiet is an attempt to learn what it’s like to be human; to deal with the scariest parts of myself; to live with the pain of knowing i’m only flesh and bones; to be angry, broken and unforgiving yet still able to wear my heart on my sleeve; i’m shedding light on the darkest parts of my mind and i’m letting everyone in; if i could make it go quiet is me simply trying to understand what the fuck is going on." bit.ly

24-year old Alex Crossan, aka Mura Masa, demonstrates his production chops in a grunge-turned-techno remix of London up-and-comers PVA’s “Talks”.
Stripping all but the vocals, Crossan’s injects a rising synth loop and distorted percussive elements. Combined with Ella Harris’ grounded vocals, makes an infectious groove that belongs in a UK underground rave circa 1989.
In a statement, Crossan divulged:
"I’m a really big fan of PVA since hearing ‘Divine Intervention’, so when they very kindly let me hear their new music I jumped at the chance to put my own twist on Talks. I think they’ve got a very refreshing take on a very classic sound so I tried to do a similar thing with my remix."

About the album title: David Byrne came across a book called Music And The Brain, which discussed a phobia some people have regarding music. The book explained that music is so distressing to some people that they have to be sent to the countryside where they can't hear it. Byrne thought the contradiction between the intent of music and this reaction was interesting.

Sampling Kate Bush's Cloudbusting!
Utah Saints are an English electronic music group. The band's members, Jez Willis and Tim Garbutt, were joined on-stage by additional musicians when they played live from 1991 to 2001. Since then they have performed as DJs.
They were notable for their pioneering use of sampling technology – in particular, their practice of manipulating samples from mainstream pop and rock songs and combining them with contrasting dance beats, using the samples in an entirely new context. The band wrote, produced and mixed all of their own music.
From her 5th studio album released in 1985.
