According to Noisey, Jasamine White-Glutz elaborates on the recording environment: We did them at [producer] Jorge’s great-grandparents’ farmhouse on a mountain in the jungle with nobody around. We didn’t bring a huge studio with us—we kind of just made something. Some of the vocals on the record we did in Costa Rica I did in the bathroom. The floor was like grass—it was a beautiful old two-century-old building."

Remember Yaz? (Or Yazoo?) Geneviève Alison Jane Moyet was one of half of the duo Yazoo. She eventually went solo and also released 'Alf' in 1984.

Pure X followed up their brooding, "Crawling Up the Stairs" with 2014's "Angel" which concerns the aftermath of guitarist Nate Grace's injuries:"I got surgery and learned how to walk again and from there it was like, my life got pretty good. So for me, everything changed...kind of like a lifestyle change that resulted in an overall, better, healthier wellbeing."
Electrelane came together in Brighton in 1998 by Verity Susman and Emma Gaz. They released their fourth album, 'No Shouts, No Calls' in April 2007 and disbanded in November of that year.

Widowspeak is guitarist and vocalist Molly Hamilton and guitarist Robert Earl Thomas. Patrick James Grossi, better known by his stage name Active Child took four years to complete "Mercy". In an interview last year, Grossi elaborates on the time needed to create his latest album, "I really felt after the success of the previous album, I needed to go away and focus on having a personal life; seeing my family, watching my nieces and nephews grow up and my parents grow old. After the unexpected success of my last album, I needed to find somebody to fall in love with. It was important to live a life full of the things I related to before; that gave me a sense of authenticity, and centred myself. The central influence for this album was the relationship I am now in, and how that happened, and how I felt in those early moments."

The only self-tiled LP released by Nigeria’s number-one producer of the 1970s and early ‘80s, ‘Sound President’ Odion Iruoje was re-released this past August. Iruoje is credited as being the man who signed Fela Kuti to EMI Nigeria and produced all of Fela’s revolutionary early material from 1970-73.
In an interview with Dusted Magazine, Noah Lennox (Panda Bear) talks about 2007's "Person Pitch": "A lot of the songs on Person Pitch are kind of sugary. Laura Marling is releasing a new record in March! “I started out writing Semper Femina as if a man was writing about a woman,” Marling said in a press release. “And then I thought it’s not a man, it’s me — I don’t need to pretend it’s a man to justify the intimacy of the way I’m looking and feeling about women. It’s me looking specifically at women and feeling great empathy towards them and by proxy towards myself.”
After a hectic and troubled childhood, Archy Marshall a.k.a. King Krule began recording music in 2010 under the moniker "Zoo Kid". The following year he adopted the name "King Krule".
The Moon Rang Like a Bell was written and recorded over three years, with the band composing and producing over 60 songs in the process. Tryon said, “We made a lot of music over the last 3 years. There are about 60 songs, in a few separate groups. One of those groups is much more organic, pretty much acoustic. This one, The Moon Rang Like a Bell, covers the biggest range emotionally and is probably the most argumentative. It had the greatest attraction for us to finish, so we did.”

The Brotherhood of Lizards a.k“The First Eco Rock Band”. Duo, Newell and Nelson set off on bicycles, instruments on backs, tiny amps in front carriers, for a 600-mile busking tour of the entire southern half of England after releasing Lizardland in 1989.
