According to Noisey, Jasamine White-Glutz elaborates on the recording environment: We did them at [producer] Jorge’s great-grandparents’ farmhouse on a mountain in the jungle with nobody around. We didn’t bring a huge studio with us—we kind of just made something. Some of the vocals on the record we did in Costa Rica I did in the bathroom. The floor was like grass—it was a beautiful old two-century-old building."

After the unexpected success of my last album, I needed to find somebody to fall in love with. It was important to live a life full of the things I related to before; that gave me a sense of authenticity, and centred myself.
