"I am super proud to be an Amplifier here in Nebraska. My best friend and I had the pleasure of visiting KEXP on a trip to Seattle a couple of years ago and it was a highlight of our trip. We look forward to coming back again someday and spending time just hanging at the gathering space. We believe in the music you play and the work you do in the community. I am so glad that we have access to listen to KEXP here in the midwest. Thank you SO MUCH!"
Jamanda
Proud Amplifier here in Chicago!
Being 2 hours ahead here, the morning show lines up perfectly with the start of my work day and I just listen through all day long. Thanks for being such a great help getting me through the day. -Ken H.
"I love being an amplifier, and a Navajo one at that! I'd love to hear "So American" by Portugal The Man. This past weekend I had a chance to meet some of the band (John Gourley and Zach Carothers) at Seattle's Indigenous People Festival. It turns out they are strong supporters of Indigenous peoples. They try to visit the local indigenous people whereever they play, they open their shows (like Bumbershoot last year) with a recognition of the indigenous tribes whose lands they are playing on, and they even have an indigenous person working for them who coordinates indigenous outreach. So my hat's totally off to them for setting such a great example and using their power for good!"
-Chris
"MORGAN!!! ❤️❤️❤️ We're on our way to the airport for our first family wedding since our wedding last year, and we took possession of our first house yesterday! Can we hear All My Friends? We ❤️ You - Chelsea Mae and Dave"
Ben in Seattle, thank you for being an amplifier!
This one goes out to Devon!
Thanks to Christine, a loyal amplifier!
"I’m an amplifier out in Milwaukee, WI. Love listening each morning and proud of the work you do because, the music INDEED matters. Personally, I’m going through a divorce – and music like Sam Cooke’s “Change is Gonna Come” helps. Although I’m fully aware this is an anthem for civil rights, I can’t help to apply the message, because it’s been a long, long time coming and yes it will." -Paul
This one had several requests. We appreciate all the loyal morning show listeners!
This one goes out to Pinar in Paris!
"I have been an amplifier for the past 5 years. Through the time John, Cheryl, Kevin, Morgan and Troy, and all the other incredible DJs at the station have introduced to me to songs, bands and genres that I never fully gave a chance. KEXP is a special place that encourages inclusiveness and community and makes people want to join in. I appreciate everything the station does and am proud to be an amplifier!" -Peter
This one's for Nina!
"Our daughter Evelyn turns 3 today. She’s listened to KEXP every weekday (and most weekend) mornings of her little life." Thanks, Meghan!
For Toby and Cristina (and daughter, Pepper) in Bellevue!
For Kristine T!
"I would like to make a request for Bowie’s changes. I’m sitting here with my two week old daughter Leona (our first) who is a future amplifier just like both her parents. Every day is a new adjustment for both little Leona and I. I’m trying to inundate her with as much good music and radio as possible early on. I was hoping you could play Changes for us. Thanks Morgan! Happy pre-Friday!" Jonathan
We had SEVERAL requests for this beautiful song. Thanks to all our supporters out there!
Thanks to Cotton for supporting KEXP!
"I just wanted to say hi, and let you know (but you know) how proud I am to be an Amplifier. I'm not much of a worldsmith, but the love is there! So fortunate to have KEXP here, and the Gathering Space, etc.... I look forward to more fun events with you guys and the other Amplifiers." -Peri
Lots of requests for Idles this morning. Love yourself!
"Whenever I consider what has KEXP specifically done for me, I always come to Savages! The first time I heard them on KEXP, I was transfixed and transformed. The music was so new and yet part of a continuum. And then I saw them....WOW! It is that kind of power that is a key strength of KEXP." -Brian in Oakland
Thanks to Howard for support KEXP as an amplifier!
"Hi, I’ve been an Amplifier probably within 6 months of moving to Seattle. I download all the podcasts, even the Running podcast even though I don’t run (I listen to it slowly trudging up the Blaine Street steps or the Interlaken trails while weight-wielding octogenarians sprint past me)." -Wendy
"I have a fever this morning and the only prescription is, no not more cowbell, Fever by Thunderpussy!" -Greg
"We're spending the morning working on a project due tomorrow, so i'm streaming you in my classroom while students work. If possible, could you work in something by Rosalia before 9:45? They'd be so surprised to hear a shout out to spanish 1 at West Seattle High School." -Joy
"Can you play something by A Tribe Called Red? A little Native pride on the airwaves for the folks at the chief Seattle club would be greatly appreciated!" -Justin
Reneé, thanks for your support!
"It's been a day at work already. Could you play Always Love by Nada Surf? I need to be reminded that there's a better way." -Christine
"Could you play Death Cab’s “I will possess your heart?” My now husband and I moved here in 2007, and this song, to me, is symbolic of Seattle. Two kids later: We love this city, this station, our new life. <3
Thanks for everything!"
-Natalie
"Would like to request a song from the best brazilian band, Boogarins, sombrou duvida. I know you like it hahaha. Thanks for playing them on KEXP." -Daniel from Brazil
