Courtney Barnett covering Chastity Belt!
“This song is so special to me,” Barnett said in a press release. “I remember when the album came out and I listened to ‘Different Now’ over and over, I thought they were singing directly to me. It’s a perfect piece of songwriting, I showed it to Kurt [Vile] and he would always sing it to me on tour. I love Chastity Belt. I’m pretty sure we met in 2014 at a record store in Seattle, then we toured together in 2015 and we’ve been friends ever since.”

Bully's Alicia Bognanno says:
When “Lose You” came about it was the first time I’ve considered having someone else sing on a Bully song. I love Sophie’s [Allison of Soccer Mommy] voice and have always admired everything she does so to me it was a no brainer. Watching her soar out of the Nashville scene and dominate indie music world wide has been a joy. Writing “Lose You” was a way for me to work through the pain and reality of impermanence. It doesn’t make it any easier but reflection is often followed by growth and to me that’s what life is all about.

In a bid to keep drummer and heroin-addict Jimmy Chamberlin away from his regular drug dealers, Smashing Pumpkins reportedly relocated to Marietta, Georgia to record their second album ‘Siamese Dream’ in 1992.

Melt Yourself Down have never been fully attached to a particular scene or sound, but this ability to stand out has allowed them to survive.
As musician Pete Wareham puts it: “We don’t fit the archetype. For too long this has felt like a problem, now we have the opportunity to say: We don’t fit in, we’re in the cracks, we’re ourselves.”
Of the single, Gaya adds: “In everything I create there is a tension between wanting to fit in, to feel included and the fear of losing my culture or forgetting where I am from. The refusal to fit in whatever narrative an African man of Asian appearance should play in western society. I started not really caring so much, not second-guessing myself or my vocals so much, which was a huge hurdle to overcome.” www.clashmusic.com

“’More Than a Love Song’ is a message I borrowed from my Uncle Steve,” Eric Burton explained. “As a songwriter and caregiver, he’d listen to me write songs from afar and if I were lucky he’d have a pointer or two for me. ‘Life is more than a love song.’”

The original idea behind the main melody and groove of ‘Doppelganger’ was inspired by 60’s Okinawan music and then mixed with a melancholic vibe often found in Japanese pop ballads of the 70’s.
