Young Fathers have announced their new album to follow Cocoa Sugar (released 2018). Heavy Heavy, their fourth album, is set to come out early next year.
In a statement the band said of the new song: “It’s a big bully with shite down their leg, still swaggering. That pamphlet through your door blaming the establishment and immigrants for everything going wrong. The stench of long-dead empire, trudging along, a psychological hammer to your head in every step. The delusion.”

This song refers to closing time (11pm) in pubs in the UK, which means people being very drunk and lots of fights. Closing time was eventually moved back in the UK, which spread out the drunkenness.
The line, "Would never have happened to Smeaton" refers to John Smeaton High School in Leeds, where the band comes from. John Smeaton (1724-1792) was a civil engineer from Leeds.
Today would have been Les McKeown of the Bay City Rollers birthday, born on this day in 1955. He died last year at age 65. The Scottish pop band garnered a fanatical teen following after he joined them in 1973.: www.nytimes.com
