The band consists of Kazu Makino (vocals, keys/rhythm guitar) and twin brothers Simone and Amedeo Pace (drums/keys and lead guitar/bass/keys, respectively). The group's name is derived from a song on the 1981 EP "A Taste of DNA" by the no wave group DNA.
The Veldt from North Carolina was formed by identical twin brothers Daniel and Danny Chavis. The band's name comes from a Ray Bradbury story of the same name.
Produced by Cocteau Twins’ Robin Guthrie in autumn 1989 (and remastered by him in 2023), this record was intended to be the band’s first album.

Kim and Kelley Deal are identical twins and members of The Breeders. The band was formed in 1989 as a side project for Kim Deal, while her other band, Pixies, was on hiatus.

Bascom Lamar Lunsford was a prominent figure in the preservation and promotion of American folk music, particularly from the Appalachian region. Born on March 21, 1882, in North Carolina, Lunsford was a folklorist, performer of traditional Appalachian music, and a lawyer. Lunsford's contributions to the preservation of traditional music were significant, and he was involved in various professions throughout his life, including being a fruit tree and honey salesman, lawyer, publisher, teacher, and reading clerk of the North Carolina House of Representatives. He is also known for his involvement in politics and his work during the "New Deal" era. Lunsford's dedication to traditional music and the Appalachian heritage left a lasting impact on the music and cultural landscape of the region. One of his well-known songs is "I Wish I Was a Mole in the Ground."
