New material by Gorillaz, a British virtual band created in 1998 by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. The band consists of four animated members: 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs. This new track features Benjamin Clementine.
Performing at KEXP and the Crocodile on February 14th, Austra is an electronic music project from Toronto, Ontario, founded by Katie Stelmanis in 2009. Maya Postepski, also contributes on the recordings. A live band consists of Postepski on drums, Dorian Wolf on bass and moog, and Ryan Wonsiak on keyboards. They previously also featured the twin backing singers Sari and Romy Lightman of Tasseomancy. The band have released three albums, two EPs and a number of singles, with the first two albums reaching the Billboard Heatseekers album chart
Anohni is an English-born singer, composer, and visual artist who resides in the United States. She is best known as the lead singer of the band Antony and the Johnsons. Anohni was born in Chichester, England. Her family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1981. In 1990, she moved to Manhattan, New York to study at New York University, where she founded the performance art collective Blacklips with Johanna Constantine.

Woods is an American folk rock band from Brooklyn, formed in 2005. The band consists of Jeremy Earl, Jarvis Taveniere, Aaron Neveu, Chuck Van Dyck and Kyle Forester. Rainer Maria is a three piece emo band from Madison, Wisconsin, later residing in Brooklyn, New York, originally active from 1995 to 2006. Named after the German-language poet Rainer Maria Rilke, Caithlin De Marrais, Kaia Fischer and William Kuehn formed the band in late summer of 1995. They released five full-length albums, a live DVD, numerous live recordings, and EPs. In its earlier days, the band had a dual male and female vocal line-up; later, De Marrais would become the lead vocalist in a majority of their songs. The gender ambiguity of the name Rainer Maria paralleled this and was one of the reasons it was selected as the band's name.
The Damnwells were an indie rock band originally from Brooklyn, New York The band formed in 2000 and released five full-length albums, Air Stereo (2006, Epic Records/Rounder Records), Bastards of the Beat (2003, Epic Records), One Last Century (2009, self-released), No One Listens to the Band Anymore (2011, PledgeMusic) and The Damnwells (2015, PledgeMusic). The original members of the Damnwells were Alex Dezen (lead vocals, guitar, piano), David Chernis (lead guitar), Ted Hudson (bass), and Steven Terry (drums/percussion). Steven Terry played drums and recorded with Ryan Adams' original band Whiskeytown on the album Strangers Almanac. Over their 16 year career, they toured extensively throughout the United States and had numerous television and radio appearances. Although David Chernis and Steven Terry left the band from 2007 to 2013, the Damnwells, with core members Alex Dezen and Ted Hudson, still appeared in changing formations during that time.
Car Seat Headrest is an American indie rock band originally from Leesburg, Virginia, United States, currently based out of Seattle, Washington. Begun as a solo recording project in 2010 by Will Toledo, Car Seat Headrest released 12 albums on the music platform Bandcamp. Sixth solo album from Tobin Sprout, an American artist and musician. He is best known for his contributions as a member of indie rock group Guided by Voices. A self-taught musician, Sprout played with and was a major collaborator to the Dayton, Ohio band Guided By Voices. Employing a four-track recorder and a home studio he contributed to the unique lo-fi sound of Guided by Voices and he was a member of the band from 1987 through 1997. The band frequently recorded in Sprout's home studio, and as a member of the band he contributed as a co-writer, multi-instrumentalist and studio engineer.

Savages are an English rock band formed in 2011 in London. Their debut album, Silence Yourself was released on May 6, 2013 via Matador Records. It reached number 19 in the UK Albums Chart in May 2013, and was critically acclaimed. It peaked at number 5 on Irish and UK Independent Albums Chart, and at number 13 on US Billboard Independent Albums. The band's second album Adore Life, was released on January 22, 2016. Jagwar Ma is an Australian psychedelic dance band formed in Sydney in 2011. It consists of Gabriel Winterfield (lead vocalist, guitarist), Jono Ma (guitar, beats, synths, production), and bass guitarist Jack Freeman, who joined 2012. The band name is derived from a satirical compound of the word "jaguar" and Jono's surname. Jagwar Ma performed live at KEXP back in December of 2013, check it out here: www.youtube.com
Holy Ghost! is an American synthpop duo from Brooklyn, New York City, consisting of Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel. Millhiser and Frankel both grew up on the Upper West Side of New York City and attended elementary school together. They were later part of a hip hop group called Automato. Automato's debut album was produced by James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy of DFA. After the release of the album, Automato "kind of fell apart". However, Millhiser and Frankel kept working on music. Initially it was going to be more hip hop work, but decided to create music with vocals and poppier arrangements.

American Wrestlers is an American indie rock band from St. Louis, Missouri, United States, formed in 2014. Initially founded as a solo project by Scottish musician Gary McClure, the band also includes Bridgette Imperial, Ian Reitz and Josh Van Hoorebeke. American Wrestlers will be at the Crocodile this Tuesday, 1/24.
Imperial Teen is a San Francisco-based indie pop group made up of Roddy Bottum (Faith No More) primarily on guitar/vocals, Will Schwartz (also of hey willpower) primarily on guitar/vocals, Lynn Truell (née Perko formerly of Sister Double Happiness, the Dicks, and the Wrecks) primarily on drums and backing vocals, and Jone Stebbins (previously of The Wrecks) primarily on bass and backing vocals. Imperial Teen became known for their boy/girl harmonies and for all four members switching off on instruments during shows.

Crenshaw; and samples of "Stewball", recorded by Alan Lomax and John Lomax, Sr. in 1947, performed by Prisoner "22" at Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman. Its production was handled by Beyoncé, Coffer and veteran hip hop record producer Just Blaze.
The Austin-based ten-piece collective of musicians known as Hard Proof began by studying the blueprint of Fela Kuti’s Africa 70 band, as well as funk and jazz from the whole of sub-Saharan Africa. Founded in 2008, Hard Proof features members of Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, The Calm Blue Sea, Cougar, Ocote Soul Sounds, Spanish Gold, and several other notable Austin acts.
Roberto A. Mendoza , known as Panoptica, has been one of the figures in the Mexican electronic scene since the late 80s, founding bands like electro pos-industrial outfit Artefakto and in the late 90’s being part of the Tijuana-based norteña-meets-techno Nortec Collective. He has also been releasing tracks as Panóptica and it was under this name that English DJ John Peel took notice, inviting him to do one of his Peel sessions for the BBC in 2001.
Atmosphere is an American hip hop duo from Minneapolis, Minnesota, consisting of rapper Slug (Sean Daley) and DJ/producer Ant (Anthony Davis). American Football is an American rock band from Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, originally active from 1997 until 2000 and reunited in 2014. Guitarist/bassist and singer Mike Kinsella (formerly of Cap'n Jazz and Joan of Arc and currently of Owen), drummer and trumpet player Steve Lamos (formerly of The One Up Downstairs, one-time member of The Firebird Band and Edward Burch & the Staunch Characters, and currently of The Geese and DMS), and guitar player Steve Holmes (also of The Geese) formed the band.
Joel Robinow (keyboards/guitar/vocals), Raj Ojha (drums/recording engineer), Eli Eckert (bass/guitar/vocals) and Raze Regal (guitar) have convened as "Once and Future Band" with the purpose of performing and recording Joel's massive library of songs before they are lost to the ages after the Great Hard Drive Crash of '12.
Field Music are an English rock band from Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, England, that formed in 2004, notable for their numerous side-projects and collaborations with other musicians in the Wearside region. The band's core consists of brothers David Brewis and Peter Brewis, with Andrew Moore occasionally featured as keyboardist. Their line-up has at times featured members of both Maxïmo Park and The Futureheads.

Blonde Redhead is an alternative rock band composed of Kazu Makino (vocals, rhythm guitar) and twin brothers Simone and Amedeo Pace (drums and lead guitar/vocals, respectively) that formed in New York City in 1993. The band's earliest albums were noted for their noise rock influences, though their sound evolved by the early 2000s with the releases of Misery is a Butterfly (2004) and 23 (2007), which both incorporated elements of dream pop, shoegaze and other genres. They have released nine regular studio albums and have toured internationally.
