Bombay Bicycle Club was recently in our studio playing songs off their album "Different Kind of Fix" kexp.org
Ride didn't gain much critical acclaim while they were a band from 1988-1996, but they influenced music history, the "shoegaze" genre and probably hundreds of KEXP bands.
Another short lived shoegaze group- Chapterhouse shared a label with Spaceman 3 and Cranes.

Michelle Meyers expounds on the greatness of Bowie blog.kexp.org
"This New Zealand band’s second album is a darker, more mature take on their catchy post-punk sound that’s heavily steeped in the ‘80s sounds of the Smiths, Echo & the Bunnymen and the Cure, with a gray-streaked sound featuring jangly guitars, crooning vocals, melancholy lyrics and wistful pop melodies." 8/10/2011 -Don Yates

"The stunning debut album from UK singer/songwriter/producer finds an exciting, atmospheric, and downright sexy balance between R&B, dubstep, pop, and soul. Most of Mirrorwriting's knockout highlights were found on last year's Night Air EP, but there's still plenty of wonderful songs to discover on this full-length. (The album was released last year in Europe but is just now being released in the US.)" 2/24/2012 -Alex

Simple Minds touring Europe. Here's there statement from the band on why they haven't set any US Dates: "No dates yet....The band would love to tour in the USA and Canada again and the last thing Jim and Charlie want is the North American fans feeling left out, the right opportunities haven't materialised over the last few years which has made it difficult...SM are a big live machine that have specific requirements......but the bands agent is always in discussion with prospective promoters stateside....so fingers crossed ...it will be soon!"
