Rick Nielsen, being interviewed in 2008 said, "when I wrote the song, the ’we’re all all right’ was originally only intended to refer to the four of us; that’s why it comes right after the ’Bun-E/Tom/Robin/Rick’s all right’ section. After we started playing it live however, I came to realize that, to our audience, it was inclusive of all of us - our generation; that we’re ALL all right..." bit.ly
In 2010 KEXP sat down with Tame Impala's Kevin Parker and heard about how surreal their success at that point had been. It's now 2012 and Tame Impala's Lonerism was released just last week to much acclaim. Their psych pop goodness only gets better with this sophomore release! Read the 2010 interview here: bit.ly

The original title for this album was intended to be "Whore." Choosing to go with the title Doolittle instead, after Dr. John Doolittle, the greatest "nacherlist" in the world. The Pixies speak the language of animals according Ben Sisario in his 33 & 1/3 series: "[studio engineer] Price remembers one particular night when a couple of members of the band - Joey and David, he thinks...killed all the lights and bounced around the main room like the apes in 2001, making wild animal noises in the dark. Tape was rolling, Price says. Which means that somewhere, presumably in the 4AD vaults in London, lie professional 24-track master recordings of this romp, on expensive two-inch Ampex 256 tape." Don Yates Mini Review: "The Sleater-Kinney front woman follows up her surprisingly subdued 2010 full-length 1000 Years with an impressive return to her fiery riot grrrl roots. Collaborating on every song with her talented band (bassist Seth Lorinczi of Golden Bears, former Unwound drummer Sara Lund and keyboardist/guitarist Mike Clark of Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks), Tucker & co. deliver a fierce set of loud, punchy indie-rock spiked with Tucker’s wailing vocals and often-politically charged lyrics." 9/14/2012
