Your Favorite Music was originally intended to be Clem Snide's debut on Sire Records, but they were dropped prior to its release. The band is still releasing music, albeit more sporadically.
German director Wim Wenders has said Souljacker is his favorite Eels LP- in particular the track "Woman Driving, Man Sleeping." The original release was delayed because his label thought it didn't have any radio-friendly singles.
Badly Drawn Boy's debut LP won the 2000 Mercury Music Prize. Damon Gough recorded the LP with members of Doves and Alfie. It has sold 450,000 copies in the UK as of press time.
"Elbow band" provides more mixed results on Google than you might expect. Elbow's third LP, Leaders of the Free World, has album art that is reportedly quite similar to that of Genesis's A Trick of the Tail. This is a coincidence.
Arcade Fire recorded Neon Bible in a refurbished church in a Quebec town that the band purchased with the money from funeral. They spent the first months converting it into a recording studio.
Happy Birthday to Lenny Kravitz! You might only know Lenny Kravitz as the father of Zoe Kravitz or the star of the Hunger Games movies, but he has recorded a few studio LPs (10, in fact). This track came from his debut, Let Love Rule. It does.
You can apparently buy Sharon Van Etten's hot, new EP I Don't Want To Let You Down in a six-panel wallet. It is unknown exactly what that means. Sharon released a very good LP last year, titled Are We There.
Courtney Barnett was just part of the 2015 Sasquatch cavalcade. (She was reportedly quite good, which is not surprising). The music video for this track is amazing (see: Courtney as a sad clown).
Best Breeders song? I think yes. Second Tonya Donelly project of the day. Presumably a few more to go. The renovated Breeders will be at The Showbox on September 10th. It is 21+ to keep out the riff-raff.
Pins opened for Sleater-Kinney on the UK leg of their tour, which is a pretty good gig. This track comes from their soon-to-be released (June 9) sophomore LP, titled Wild Nights.
Some people hate Sandinista!, but it was voted the #1 album of 1989 by the Village Voice Pop & Jazz Poll. So take that. The title refers to a Venezuelan contra group that led the resistance against US occupation.
Which do you prefer- Parquet Courts or Parkay Quarts? Tough call. Parquet Courts will be at this year's Pickathon, providing yet another reason to drive to a farm in the middle of Oregon. Don't get lost.
The Dead Milkmen will headline this year's Timber Music Festival (July 16-18 in Carnation, WA). This track comes from their fourth album, Beelzebubba. The video for this track was shown on Beavis & Butthead.
Modest Mouse headlined Sasquatch this past Saturday. Reviews suggest it was quite good. Hopefully, Modest Mouse's collaboration with Outkast-founded Big Boi will drop sometime soon. Maybe in another eight years.
Our friends at Wikipedia would like to remind you that the video for this track used clips of the manga film Space Adventure Cobra. The track was later featured in the Britney Spears film Crossroads, presumably not sung by Britney herself.
I did not know that I needed Spoon covering the Cramps, but it turns out I do. Spoon played a career-spanning nine-song set last year on KEXP: blog.kexp.org.
Siouxsie and The Banshees drummer Budgie also played on the debut LP from The Slits, Cut. This track comes from Siouxsie & Co.'s debut LP, The Scream. It was later re-recorded in German, for whatever that's worth.
The original copies of Dracula originally appeared in UK bookstores on this day. This LP from Concrete Blonde (Bloodletting) was their third album, and most commercially successful.
"Policy of Truth" was the third single of Violator. Though not as commercially successful as their previous two singles, "Policy of Truth" remains one of the band's most successful singles on the US Charts.
Nadine Shah's new album, Fast Food, was released last month. The Allmusic review of that record describes her as "coming off as if Morrissey were crossed with an ice queen and Bauhaus played in support." High praise.
CHVRCHES (also spelled as CHVRCHΞS or Churches [for non-converts]) released their debut LP, The Bones of What You Believe back in 2013. They covered "Bela Lugosi's Dead" for the Vampire Academy soundtrack.
Joy Formidable's lead singer was originally named Rhiannon Bryan. Fleetwood Mac reference? Probably not. This track was re-recorded for their debut LP, The Big Roar.
The Bob Mould's latest LP, Beauty & Ruin, was released last year. It received quite good reviews. This track was originally released as part of the No Alternative compilation, put together by the great Red Hot Organization.
Doug Martsch & Co. will be headlining this year's Capital Hill Block Party. Their latest LP, Untethered Moon, features catchy tunes and dubious cover art. It is their first since 2009's There Is No Enemy.
Young Fathers were recently in town, and played a very good set on The Morning Show. The band's latest is titled White Men Are Black Men Too- blog.kexp.org.
Cut Copy released this album (In Ghost Colours) back in 2008. It was critically-acclaimed, named as the 4th best album of 2008 by P4K. It topped the Australian charts.
Request for the earworm-ridden Steph. Let's all hope David Byrne is doing well. Ice-T has said that "Psycho Killer" was the starting point for Body Count's "Cop Killer." It is unknown whether Tipper Gore also hates this track.
Blur has a grand total of ZERO US tour dates for their Magic Whip tour as of now. Damon Albarn doesn't seem too fond of the US, to be fair. The Magic Whip is the band's first album since Think Tank in 2003.
This track was originally featured on American Music Club's 1994 effort, San Francisco. It was their seventh LP. Following this release, the band took a nine-year hiatus.

The most recent Cold War Kids LP, Hold My Home, was released in late-2014. The band played LIVE from the Cutting Room last year- kexp.org.
Oh, Bradford Cox. Bradford said that the album's title refers to a mix of fond and invented memories- "like my friendship with Ricky Wilson or the fact that I live in an abandoned victorian autoharp factory." Let's hope he's doing okay.
At The Drive-In seem quite angry, but I can't figure out why. They played a great set on Letterman back around the release of this record- www.youtube.com.
The Thermals will headline this year's West Seattle Summer Fest (July 10-12). This track comes from The Body, the Blood, the Machine, released back in 2006. It was produced by Fugazi's Brendan Canty.
San Diego band Crocodiles just released their fifth LP, titled Boys. Also, Crocodiles have collaborated with Television Personalities mastermind Dan Treacy, which is pretty awesome.
"River Euphrates" was originally released as the b-side to "Gigantic." Surfer Rosa inspired both PJ Harvey and Kurt Cobain/Nirvana to work with producer Steve Albini. Albini isn't the biggest Pixies fan.
Mikal Cronin will be at this year's Bumbershoot Music Festival (9/5-7). His latest album is titled MCIII. Mikal Cronin also plays in Ty Segall's band sometimes (which is like a breeding ground for excellent artists).
Cover of Tenement Halls. This compilation compiled 20 current Merge artists covering 20 founding Merge artists. Highlights include Death Cab & Ryan Adams covering Superchunk and Conor Oberst covering Magnetic Fields.
