Moby's been by the KEXP studios many times over the years, most recently to do a DJ set on the Afternoon Show. This set comes from 2009- www.kexp.org.
Wikipedia would like to remind you that Avey Tare, Panda Bear, Deakin, and Geologist are not Animal Collective's REAL names. This track features the first ever licensed Grateful Dead sample.
This version of "Wave of Mutilation" was originally featured as a b-side on the US release of the "Here Comes Your Man" single. (Better than the original version, in my opinion...)
Billy Corgan says his forthcoming tour with Marilyn Manson is about "two great artists, two great histories, still making great music." That's why it's called the End Times tour? Also, he hates nostalgia.
Trouble Will Find Me was the sixth studio LP from The National, released in 2013. It was nominated for a Grammy in the "Alternative" music category. It lost to that Vampire Weekend album. You know the one.
Googling just "Doves" leads to lots of welcome pictures of the friendly avian creatures. For the BAND, one might type in "Doves band." The Last Broadcast was the sophomore Doves LP, released all the way back in 2002.
Thank you so much to KEXP amplifiers Bishop, Joanne, Thomas, Jody, Jason, Alicia, Sarah, Joshua, Dan, John, Erin, Ben, Sandy, Chris, Lisa, and Mick!!! This track comes from We Are Augustines's debut LP from 2011.
Strand of Oaks will be at The Moore Theater on October 2-3, opening for My Morning Jacket. This track comes from the very good Heal LP released back in 2014. It was occasionally played on this show.
This track was memorably featured in the insanely good 2014 movie The Guest. Love and Rockets was formed by Bauhaus's David J, Daniel Ash, and Kevin Haskins. They released seven albums, and had great, great hair.
The olde Love and Rockets-Cure transition. The Exploding Boy was the original b-side of "In Between Days," and was never released on a Cure album proper. It is featured on the Join The Dots b-side collection.
TV On the Radio's Seeds was the band's first album since the death of founding member Gerard Smith. It was recorded entirely at Dave Sitek's home studio, which is called Federal Prism. This is hilarious.
New Order is still going, albeit sans Peter Hook's bass stylings. The band's most recent LP, Lost Sirens, came out back in 2013. It received alright reviews? Hook was featured on the LP.
Best 9 minute dance break ever. Originally intended as a b-side Fools Gold became The Stone Roses' most successful track, peaking at No. 8 on the UK Charts. The band performed it on Top of the Pops.
Jamie xx will be spinning at this year's Capitol Hill Block Party. His new LP, In Colour, is technically his solo debut LP, even though he put out a record with Gil Scott-Heron back in 2011 (We're New Here).
Maribou State was founded in Hertfordshire, UK, but now reside in London (presumably for better internet reception). They have a few shows throughout Europe this summer. New LP is Portraits.
Which stands for Keep Yo Self Alive? Should be able to fact-check somewhere, but who has the time? This track from Phantogram appears on a compilation collecting songs on a particular Grand Theft Auto radio station.
Spoon NOT played by Cheryl Waters? (WHAT). The Way We Get By was featured on The O.C., which can neither be confirmed nor denied. Kill The Moonlight was the band's most successful LP to date.
I love it when people applaud for songs before the track is finished (which happens in this track, not a non-sequitur). This session was recorded from Of Monsters and Men was recorded at KEX Hostel. Exclusive session later today (3PM).
Steppin' Out proved to be Joe Jackson's biggest single in the US, also garnering a few Grammy Nominations in 1982. It was also featured on a Grand Theft Auto radio station (which was this DJ assistant's introduction).
Unknown Mortal Orchestra will be at this year's Capitol Hill Block Party. The band's new album is called Multi-Love. This track is also called Multi-Love. It is unknown which name came first, but we will do research to find out.
De La Soul are really of the soul, ya know? The group will be at EMP on June 20th, supported by Brothers From Another, all of which is awesome. Unsure where Stakes Is High ranks in the hierarchy of De La Soul records...
This track was featured on the 1974 Kool & The Gang LP Light of Worlds. The album contains nine tracks, which each represent a different planet in the solar system. We can only assume this track is Neptune.
John Lennon received a co-songwriting credit on "Fame," because the track was inspired by conversations Bowie had with Lennon about fame. It closed out the 1975 Young Americans release. Amazing cover art.
Evidently someone forgot to tell The Chemical Brothers it wasn't 1997, and they released an insanely good single. With Q-Tip, which makes it even more 90s. Great tune though. No disrespect.
Only way to transition out of a test of the Emergency Alert System. Cat Stevens now receives 75% of the royalties for the track, following a lawsuit of some sort (which seems a little rough). Wayne Coyne's doing alright though.
The Fall apparently just released an album in late May, titled Sub-Lingual Tablet. This track comes from the I Am Kurious Oranj album, which was originally written as the soundtrack for a ballet of the same name.
Request for an AMPLIFIER. After touring with Nirvana, Jawbreaker signed a 1 million dollar deal with with DGC Records. Some fans didn't like this so much. This LP was released in 1994.
Thank you so much to KEXP amplifiers Sam, Doug, Karen, James, Savina, John, Russell, Taz, Chris, Randi, Jason, Brad, Amelia, Beth, Megan, and Zane!! Also, see Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, which is amazing.
Riding the buzz from Congregation, Afghan Whigs signed to Elektra. The contract reportedly funded a Greg Dulli-scripted feature film, which was never made (which seems like a wasted opportunity. Come on Elektra).
FIDLAR will be at The Showbox on October 23rd. The John Richards-endorsed music video for "40oz. On Repeat": www.youtube.com.
Thank you so much to KEXP amplifiers Daryn, Akvile, Kristin, Steve, Peggy, Ann, Holly, Drew, Nina, Justine, Marsha Marsha Marsha, Andy, Jennifer, Susannah, Angela, and Chris.

Lloyd Cole was a philosophy student at the University of Glasgow around the time this album was released. Rattlesnakes was later certified Gold in the UK, signifying over 100k copies sold.
The title from this Hoodoo Gurus LP, Mars Needs Guitars!, is presumably inspired by the 1967 film Mars Needs Women. Probably not inspired by the 2011 animated film Mars Needs Moms, but who knows?
Doug Martsch & co. will be at this year's Capitol Hill Block Party. The group's latest LP, Untethered Moon, is Martsch's first in six years. It has received positive reviews all around.
Speedy Ortiz have a few tour dates coming up in Oregon in support of Wilco. No other NW dates right now. They were LIVE on KEXP last month- www.kexp.org.
Frank Black will NEVER be Teenager of the Year. He is too old. This album features a track which details the planning of the municipal LA water system, which is pretty cool. Also, produced by Eric from Pere Ubu.
The Honorable Peter Garrett of Midnight Oil fame was the Minister for Environment Protection, Heritage, and the Arts in Australia for a number of years. He was also a member of parliament. Not the funk group.
Flyying Colours is out of Melbourne, Australia. They were featured on a recent Music That Matters podcast. Their recent EP is titled EPX2, which we can only assume means it is their second EP.
High concentration of groups out of the British Empire in this set. Glasgow group Holy Esque played a set on KEXP earlier this year- blog.kexp.org.
Thank you so much to KEXP amplifiers Laurie, Stig, Mauntrece, John, Todd, Crane, Ed, Glenn, Rachel, Jean, Eric, Taran, Jill, Raymond, Ann, and Mike! This track comes from Frightened Rabbit's 2010 effort, The Winter of Mixed Drinks.

Sky Cries Mary bassist Jon Davison is now the lead singer of prog-rock group Yes (since 2012). Fascinating career move. This track was featured on the 1994 Sky Cries Mary LP, This Timeless Turning.
It is unknown what Hope Sandoval is currently doing, but we can probably guess it's pretty ethereal. Maybe dancing slowly in a darkened room? The band released a quite good LP in 2013, Season of Your Day.
